Immersive escape rooms in Derby. Unescapable takes the immersive experience beyond the room itself, as a top secret testing facility (don't tell anyone), we have been tasked with testing the world's first time portals - and we need YOU to test them!
Our group with ages ranging from 5-45 years thoroughly enjoyed our experience playing the escape room ‘Mary’.The rooms were well thought out, with great puzzles and special effects which made for a highly immersive experience for all. Game master Steve set the scene and provided fantastic supportive, humours interaction, enhancing our overall experience. We will definitely be returning to experience the other rooms in the near future! Would highly recommend to all! Thanks Steve!

Royal Crown Derby is one of the original companies founded in the 18th Century that is still producing fine bone china in Derbyshire, England today. The company is the most distinguished, authentic Made in England manufacturer supplying English fine bone china tableware, giftware and collectables since 1750 The present factory was established in 1878, but the business traces its origins to the original factory which was set up in Nottingham Road in about 1750. Queen Victoria granted permission to include the title "Royal" in the company name in 1890. The current site on Osmaston Road, Derby stands on a four and half acre site, employing approximately 200 staff. The Royal Crown Derby Visitor Centre offers a customer experience whether visiting the 1750 Tea Room, Museum, viewing the latest exhibition arranged by our in-house Museum Curator, taking a factory tour to see our first class products being made by hand or purchasing from the onsite retail shop.
I really can't overstate how much I enjoyed the museum in the visitor centre. It presents a fantastically rich collection of the company's porcelain manufacture, judiciously supported by historical, technical and aesthetic information and commentary. The objects are beautiful, the information is expert and precise, and the surroundings are wonderfully peaceful: I had the museum to myself for three hours - there is nothing to distract attention from the contents of the cabinets. A superb specialist museum. Furthermore, the cafe offers homemade tea bread. My portion was still warm from the oven. And on top of all this, the shop has first-quality animal paperweights (discontinued lines) for half price. So I am now the proud possessor of a wigeon duckling, to remind me of this entirely delightful day.

Excellent find - and free to visit and free car park. However went round the block three times before we found it - and the car park requires very careful negotiation, and moving to the centre of the road before you can turn in. Pity there was no brochure/guidebook to take away, although we were told we could photograph any exhibit or descriptive notices... Lots of steps, so maybe not the best location if you are mobility impaired. We were just in time to catch the couture exhibition - the clothes of Marchioness Curzon of Kedleston. Really good (says my wife...) Lots of fascinating bits and pieces and accessories from the 1920s/30s. The house itself was very interestingly dressed, though some items in the rooms had been moved and didn't match the descriptive sheets which explained what everything was! Well worth a couple of hours - and make a gift-aided donation when you leave!

Walked to this pub from our B&B in the Darley Abbey area of Derby. What a wonderful surprise! The restaurant upstairs was closed due to a recent fire. But the pub downstairs was open. Great, friendly service at the bar. Samuel Smith Ales on tap (very good!). There are tables outside, but we sat inside because it's such a wonderful place. Important tip: Cash only.

A walk round these lovely gardens in early Spring when the snowdrops are out is well worthwhile. Have a snack and a drink in the welcoming Cafe afterwards.

Called in on the way home from town just in time to have one whilst waiting for a taxi, I really enjoy having a drink in these no frills type of places.
