Although Tucson's fantastic weather, national parks and forests and desert provide the perfect environment for tons of outdoor recreational activities, this city of half a million people also has its share of history and culture. With a history that goes back much further than many of its southwestern neighbors, Tucson boasts turn-of-the-century architecture, historic neighborhoods, museums and the Mission San Xavier del Bac, a still-functioning 18th-century mission considered one of the most beautiful in the U.S. Mexican and Native American influences are pervasive, and the city has a distinctly Western flavor. There's also a college-town atmosphere, thanks to the University of Arizona, which has its own share of museums and a science center. Whether golfing at a world-class golf resort, horseback riding, hiking in the wilderness, discovering desert flora and fauna at the Arizona-Sonora Desert Museum or exploring pre-Columbian and other art at the Tucson Art Museum, you'll have a mind-boggling array of things to do.

Located in the heart of central Tucson, Dell Urich opened in 1996 after a complete redesign on the site of the former Randolph South Golf Course. Golfers at Dell Urich enjoy dramatic elevation changes and spectacular views from four sets of tees. The most popular of Tucson's five municipal courses and former host of the 2003 and 2004 Welch's/Fry's Championship, Dell Urich's par-70 layout includes plenty of birdie opportunities and a number of stunning par 3s, including the signature 17th hole.
An awesome public course in great shape interesting holes and beautiful scenery Staff is very welcoming Good pro shop Very playable and yet interesting Good value for your money

This 18-hole golf course, designed by famed Tom Fazio, is built around the foothills of the Santa Catalina Mountains, and features the famous 100-yard par 3 signature hole.
Registration was easy. Then drive in golf cart about 1 kilometre to practice green which was near both courses (2nd course - Mountain), Large practice range. I had never seen a practice green so well manicured as it seemed so perfect (almost artificial). This course has best I have seen in Tucson. Nice wide fairways and vast greens. It was also fun going from green to next tees as the landscape was unique to me. My only minor negative is that greens were actually too fast for my heavy putter. Would definitely play it again and highly recommend it.

Tom Fazio-designed 18-hole golf course is spectacular as it winds its way through the scenic Esperero Canyon.
Great experience at this beautiful golf course. As other reviewers said the course is in excellent condition. We also enjoyed the practice facilities. I wanted to give a shout out to the entire team. From the staff in the proshop to the outside services folks, all were polite, knowledgeable and efficient. After we arrived back at our hotel, my husband realized he lost his wallet somewhere between the cart drop off and the parking lot. Even though it was closing time, the Ventana Canyon golf staff went on a search for the wallet. They found it in the dark and arranged for it to be returned the next morning. Very much appreciated. We highly recommend Ventana Canyon.

This 27-hole, Jack Nicklaus Signature golf course, appealing to pros and beginners alike, is situated on the lovely 250-acre Westin La Paloma resort and offers magnificent city and mountain views.
One of the best courses I have played in Tucson. The Canyon is particularly challenging with lots of carry over desert wasteland and Arroyo's. The Ridge and Hill 9's were also very enjoyable. You need to be a Troon Privee member, or stay at the Westin La Paloma to get on this course but very reasonable twilight greens fees.

Finishing a round at Starr Pass Golf Club, an 18-hole course, gives players an inviting desert golf experience. The course at this Tucson, Arizona golf club winds its way through desert washes, over mountain passes and into box canyons. Experience our golf club, part of JW Marriott Tucson Starr Pass Resort & Spa.
Got a great deal on golf at Starr Pass. The course was in great condition. This course is a target golf, desert course. Fast greens and beautiful fairways. Bring extra balls, especially if you have trouble carrying over desert brush! We played the Rattler and Road Runner courses. The beverage cart was available on both courses. Everyone we encountered was very pleasant, from the pro shop, to the starter, to the cart guys. The pro shop had a nice selection in both men and women’s attire.

The Pascua Yaqui Tribe knew they wanted to work within the land and honor its natural gifts and wonders when it came to designing a golf course. They hired fellow Native American, Notah Begay, a Navajo and Pueblo who has made his name both as a player on the PGA Tour, a commentator on NBC television and The Golf Channel, and as a noted golf course designer, to help carve the world from the high Sonoran Desert just south of the resort. Sewailo, meaning "flower world" in the Pascua Yaqui language, blends the native landscape with picturesque lakes and streams. This challenging course measures 7,400 yards from the championship tees, with 5 different tee boxes on each hole to allow for players of all abilities.
This course is decent price and great layout, best course we played out of 8 in Tucson.Greens are in great shape with lots of contours and surrounded by many sand traps. Many creeks and ponds

This desert course, located at the base of the Santa Catalina Mountains, is known for its breathtaking views, stunning beauty, challenging design and topnotch customer service.
Mountain desert golf at its finest. This is a course situated into the upper base of the Catalina Mountains with grand vistas of the Tucson Valley from the upper tees, coupled with up hill backdrop views of the mountain's rock formations and Saguaro forests. This WOW Factor coupled with a Robert Trent Jones Jr. layout in a very wonderful golf experience. Be sure to grab a drink and a sandwich at the grille after your round. The view from the large patio of the giant pond and waterfall with the Catalina's as a backdrop is memorizing. We played on a Monday morning and pace of play was 3.5 hrs. without waiting on the group in front of us. The only drawback would that this is not a course for walkers or beginners. However, there are five tee options so that helps the once a month golfer enjoy the round. We were treated promptly by the pro shop, the starter and the bag/cart assistants. They have a course marshal during the busy winter season to keep pace of play on point.
