The Eastern Cape is a province of South Africa. Its capital is Bhisho, but its two largest cities are Port Elizabeth and East London. It was formed in 1994 out of the Xhosa homelands of Transkei and Ciskei, together with the eastern portion of the Cape Province. Landing place and home of the 1820 settlers, the central and eastern part of the province is the traditional home of the Xhosa people.

When the first review was submitted on our behalf, they listed St Francis Links as Jack Nicklaus at St Francis Links IN Port Elizabeth. through pretty good promotion and customer awareness, we have managed to get some great reviews and even the 2014 Certificate of Excellence - rated No. 2 with 5-starts behind the great attraction Shamwari. However, we are located outside Port Elizabeth in St Francis Bay. I am very happy with the reviews; however, if your search St Francis Links in St Francis Bay, you will not find us. If you search attractions, it asked for a city...when I search St Francis Bay, South Africa, St Francis Links will not appear. Please advise how I can maximize my presence with tripadvisor. I am not unhappy - just seeking the best Portal.
My family and I just experienced the most wonderful time at St Francis Links this week. Jeff Clause and his team were amazing hosts and the golf course is an absolute 'Must Play." It is a challenging golf course but it is very playable. In our 4 ball our handicaps varied from a scratch to 26 and we all enjoyed. For me, it is an exciting course and you need to pay attention when playing on the magnificent greens. It is a Jack Nicklaus design that has to be amongst the top Five in South Africa. The food in the clubhouse is excellent. We tried a variety of the most delicious meals all served by happy & attentive staff. It really was a Five Star Experience. Thank You Derek James

A great course, very playable with moderate wind; if its starts blowing picture yourself in the Open Championship and battle along .....a great experience in any case with a charming club house and wonderful staff

The Fish River Sun Hotel & Country Club is situated in the heart of the Eastern Cape's popular Sunshine Coast nestled between the Great Fish River & Old Woman’s River. It is approximately 1,2 km away from the Indian Ocean, and the setting lends itself to breathtaking glimpses of this massive expanse of water. The Eastern Cape is a land of unspoilt beaches and a natural heritage of beauty and tranquility, coupled with a rich cultural history and temperate climate; it’s the ultimate dreamland. The resort is situated on the R72 - the main coastal route between Port Elizabeth and East London. It is a 185km from Port Elizabeth (2 hours drive), a 100km from East London (1 hour's drive) and 27km from Port Alfred.A sporting paradise of fishing, hiking and superior golf only a wedge away. We invite you to experience it!
A huge thank you to all the staff at Fish River Resort, you made our stay exceptional, pool was lovely, food was absolutely delicious, and we utterly enjoyed ourselves each night with the different games / entertainment at Kontiki with Neville and Shaun, haha LOVED the Karaoke, ohhh and the magic show! :D I would definitely recommend this resort to other people. We were made aware about the water shortage issue, we visited for 10 days, and only 1 morning noticed the water was missing - we know the situation is beyond anybody's control but it felt very normal - thank you for all the effort @WaterTeam :)

The Royal Port Alfred Golf Course is one of the oldest and best known in South Africa and was established in 1907.The undulating course snakes its way through thickets of pristine coastal forest and over hilly dunes always with the smell and sounds of the Indian Ocean close by whose blue waters offer the most panoramic views from many of the fairways. In true links tradition every slope, mound and dip remains untouched, demanding creative shot making and deft reading of angles.Adding to the allure and charm of the course is its resident wild life. Normally shy bushbuck will continue grazing contently as you walk by while springbok and impala pronk with delight. The blesbok, fallow deer duiker and giant tortoise peer at the golfers with suspicion and there is bird life in abundance.Visitors are always most welcome.
Great facility, excellent and challenging course. Beautiful view of the ocean on various tee boxes, if a windy day the course becomes more challenging

We went to Olive wood to play some golf, but the wind was terrible, so rather went to lunch at the restaurant. They told as it was full due to reservations, but when we got there it was pretty much empty. Luckily for us there were a few no arrivals and they could assist us. The food on the tapas menu was really great and the service was great. The food really was grood The location was great and had a nice children's play area Would really like to go back and sample more of that tapas menu. Really do recommend this restaurant if you in the area

Accommodated me as a visitor warmly, has an arrangement with many of the hotels/ accommodations in the area, so you qualify for a reduced green fee. Hired clubs, which were OK- mizuno , and had a round. Well maintained, greens were excellent and there's some lovely memorable holes 8th, 9th particularly. If your in the area, and fancy a round, st Francis bay must be considered, as it's a little less pretentious than others either locally or within 50 miles, very friendly club.
