Great food, reasonably priced and very welcoming staff, just off main road from Galway to Clifden. Well located near a 15th century castle which is well worth a visit. Would highly recommend.

Bearna Golf and Country Club

Welcome to Bearna Golf Club! Located at the gateway to Connemara in the Gaeltacht, with commanding views of Galway Bay, the Burren and the Aran Islands, and only five miles from Galway city. Built on Connemara moorland it is a high scenic area with features and colours and plant and animal life that you won't find elsewhere. Wonderful characteristics of gorse bushes, ditches, humps and bumps, twists and turns, all surrounded by authentic Irish peat bog, make for a thrilling round of golf.

I really love this course, especially the hares and pheasants running around, and the colourful rhodedendron bushes in Spring. The view across Galway Bay to the Arann Islands from the 16th tee is magical, well worth savouring. The course is a good challenge.
