Ranked in the top 60 in the world by "Golf Magazine," this 18-hole championship course, designed by Tom Morris, offers an internationally famous golfing experience, which is set against a backdrop of smoothly contoured greens and magnificent panoramic views.
Key features are the huge dunes on the first six holes and there are lots of blind shots. A forecaddy would be a good investment for the group. There were many spectacular holes with the elevated tee shot at 9 overlooking the beach was a golfing gem. The scorecard suggests that this is a relatively short course, but don't let that fool you. Elevation changes lengthen the course considerably!

As a novice golfer found the course very challenging but the views from the top of the hill made it well worth it and a lovely meal in the club house was very much enjoyed to finish our evening

Founded in 1892, this scenic 18-hole golf course offers its toughest challenge on its opening six holes, which include two difficult par threes.
Great food and drink in lovely surroundings served by pleasant and efficient staff. Fantastic for watching golfers on the 18th green while eating or enjoying a drink. Prices are very reasonable. Open to non members and fairly relaxed dress code for a golf club.

Murcar Links is an attractive 18 hole course situated on the coast of Aberdeenshire, 10 minutes from Aberdeen city centre with superb views across the North Sea. Murcar Links has risen to No 96 in the Golf Monthly Top 100 courses and 47th in Scotland’s Top 100 courses 2019 by National Club Golfer. The course, originally designed by Archie Simpson and revised by James Braid, it is located on a classic stretch of links land with massive sand dunes, undulating fairways, and is covered in whins and heather with some magnificent views across the North Sea. Playing Murcar Links is a truly memorable and rewarding experience where each hole offers its own challenge.
This was the first course of our trip to North East Scotland, one I knew nothing much about, which I thought was going to be the disappointing starter before the main course of Trump International then Carnoustie to finish. One of the lads met a member there online (Jim) who was the most welcoming host I’ve ever met in 25 years of playing golf, with Murcar ball markers for his guests on arrival, and luckily I got the draw to play with him on the day!! Absolute top top class practice facilities on arrival, we’ll stocked pro shop, bar and restaurant with spectacular views over the North Sea and UNBELIEVABLE golf course. I rate it as high as almost any golf course in the UK, and I’ve had the good fortune of having played most of the open courses and a member at Silloth Golf Club. Not a single bad hole, unbelievable condition, views, and everything you’d expect from a top top venue. This is a MUST VISIT course, and I absolutely cannot wait to return ASAP, hopefully October. You won’t be disappointed!!!!!!!!

Award-winning layout with greater changes of elevation than are usually found at other links-style golf courses. Royal Aberdeen Golf Club in Aberdeen, Scotland, was founded in 1780 as the Society of Golfers at Aberdeen and became the Aberdeen Golf Club in 1815. Until 1888 members played on the Queen's Links close to the city before moving across the River Don to the links at Balgownie. The Course was originally designed by the Simpson Brothers, Archie and Robert of Carnoustie and later re-bunkered and lengthened by James Braid. Hawtree & Company are now engaged as the Club's architects to ensure our classic links keeps pace with the modern game. Host to many of the worlds top golfing events such as the Walker Cup 2011, Aberdeen Asset Scottish Open 2014 and the Amateur Championship 2018. The club's 'Royal' patronage was awarded by Edward VII in 1903.
Best course in Scotland in my opinion. Including the old course, Kingsbarns, both trump courses. Absolutely stunning. Not too hard but not easy by any stretch.

Braemar Golf Course is the highest 18 hole golf course in Scotland at around 1,200 feet above sea level. The greens are amongst the finest in the area and the course is very popular with holiday makers and golfing societies. The course is relatively short, measuring 4,935 off the medal tees, but it will test golfers of any standard.
