This was my first trip to a cigar factory. The staff were very helpful. Even though it was near closing the staff still took the time to give me a full demonstration of cigar making, and were very helpful in the selection process.

Annual Father’s day cruise, aboard the Carnival Breeze first stopped Amber Cove, Dominican Republic as usual we visited all the Diamonds International Shop. However the TI International shop is where we met the most friendly, knowledgeable sales associates. Bielka (aka Dee Dee), Store Manager Nash Karla along with our Carnival Cruise Shopping Director Matt Hadley were instrumental in helping my wife select the Crown of Light Solar collection diamond ring, men’s diamond ring, Regal collection diamond earrings and diamond necklace. They were pleasant and forthright as they offered various options for payment. With the assistance of Matt we got a very good deal and felt comfortable with this purchase. Dee Dee and Nash didn't use pressure sales tactics, they let the jewelry speak for itself. We had each item appraised, upon returning home. The appraisal range was 40% to 50% higher than what we paid. One item cost $6,200.00, appraised for $11,500.00. The appraisal process confirms what Matt Hadley said during our pre shopping brief about the Crown of Light Diamond. The knowledge and honesty Dee Dee and Nash displayed is second to none. If you go to Amber Cove, go to TI international ask for Dee Dee or Nash. M. McIntosh

We stopped in here for sandwiches while walking around the Central Square in Puerto Plata. The location is excellent, right on the square. They let you go upstairs to their balcony to take pictures of the square, excellent viewpoint. The cafe is bright and cheery, with a little garden inside. The prices were extremely reasonable, husband and I both had sandwiches, drinks and gelato, for less than $10 US. The gelato and baked treats are excellent. Best of all, they have free wifi so you can check emails etc while eating lunch. Friendly staff and they have both a Spanish and an English menu to order from. Worth stopping in for a treat if you're in Puerto Plata! I'm glad we did!
