Unique locally made fine arts & crafts. The oldest member run art gallery in Virginia. Opened in 1983.
Lovely collections of local artists' works at reasonable prices! The artists work at the shop themselves, so you may be able to meet the person who created the piece you just fell in love with. Delightful space to browse even if you aren't looking for buy, although if you are like me, you'll find unique gifts for any occasion, including a treat for yourself.

Lexington, Virginia, in the heart of the Shenandoah Valley, is one of our favorite vacation destinations. It's always a three-day stop, on the way to the Greenbrier or the Inn at Little Washington or Richmond or Charleston. It is a quiet, restful, beautiful and historic community, often singled out as one of the most popular destinations in the country for retirees. As history buffs, we can't get enough of Stonewall Jackson's grave site, Robert E. Lee's burial site, Virginia Military Institute and George C. Marshall's Library and Museum. Another discovery not to be overlooked is the Bookery Limited, a bookstore unlike most others, a treasure trove for book lovers. Located at 107 West Nelson Street in downtown Lexington, it was established in 1975 by owner Marysue Forrest. Walk into the store, ask her what you're looking for and she'll direct you to the book on the shelf. The Bookery contains over 50,000 new, used and rare books, newspapers, topographical maps and out-of-print material. The relatively small space is filled with books, floor to ceiling. It specializes in Civil War, military, Virginia, local authors, classics and signed collectibles. On every visit, my wife and I never cease to discover something to complete our library. On our last journey, my wife uncovered a rare autobiography of actor Henry Fonda while I purchased three Civil War books and a rare five-volume biography of George Washington written by Washington Irving in 1855. Even if you aren't in the mood to buy a book, just browsing through the stalls at the Bookery and talking to Marysue is a religious experience.

This little boutique is great! There is an eclectic mix of vintage finds and modern items displayed with flair and uniqueness. There is something very welcoming here - maybe it is the vintage items or maybe it is the friendly owner who is happy to chat with you and share his knowledge of his finds!
