The Book Cottage is an independent little bookshop that was opened in 1996 by the late Sue McNaught. The Cottage is situated in the little seaside village of Hermanus in the Overberg area. The Book Cottage stocks a comprehensive range of books and the usual accompaniments such as cards, maps diaries, journals as well as an extensive selection of titles by South African authors, combined with books on local history and attractions, in short, everything you need. Bring your children to the best kids section in town where a dedicated staff member will take time out to ensure that your child will stay interested about books and reading by recommending something new and exciting. This is the embodiment of a great little bookshop. This quaint bookshop is fun and has something for everyone!

Our cellar and wine brand is proud to pay homage to and re-live the origin of our village, Hermanuspietersfontein, as it was first named in 1855. Our passion and commitment is to produce wines of the highest quality and to add value to the reputation, which Hermanus enjoys as a premium wine-producing region. Here our winemaker, Bartho Eksteen, makes world-class wines in a state of the art wine cellar, using only the highest quality grapes from one farm. He controls the process from vineyard to cellar and plies his craft and passion under seamless conditions to produce wines of distinctive style and character. Our tasting room is open from 08:00 - 17:00 during the week and cellar tours available on request. Our courtyard transforms into a Food & Wine Market every Saturday offering the best of local produce! Come for breakfast, stay for lunch and buy dinner on your way out... And don't forget about the wine!
