Threads of Life is a fair trade business that uses culture and conservation to alleviate poverty in rural Indonesia. The heirloom-quality textiles and baskets we commission are made with local materials and natural dyes. With the proceeds from the Threads of Life gallery, we help weavers to form independent cooperatives and to manage their resources sustainably.
We bought some unusual items on a trip to Flores Island when we were there in 2012...one was a ceremonial piece from Sumba that they had only seen one other time...They had some nice weavings there for sale and the work they do there to encourage the tribes on the islands to use renewable sources for weaving and dyeing was very good as they were using commercial chemical dyes before and they were polluting and expensive as opposed to natural and renewable with only their labor instead of money...this was.around 2012..so disregard the years posted below....

From beautiful pillows to the cutest dresses, handmade scarves, placemats, home wares, and more. There’s so much to choose from you will want to buy everything. I have my own travel concierge company and I recommend this store to anyone I know who is going to Ubud, the authentic Bali. ????????????????????????

Bali Painting Online Gallery, features many original artworks of ingenious Balinese artists.
I ordered a painting by email from Europe. The painting is a beautiful craftsmanship and I'm really happy. We had some issues with the German post service. Guanda was very engaged and kept me always up do date. We will definitely visit "Ubud painting" at our next trip to Bali.

Tradisi Textiles travels to remote areas in Indonesia where magnificent textiles are still being produced using traditional methods. We search for quality, uniqueness and ethical production. We buy our textiles as close to the source of production as possible, aiming to pay the women who made them directly. 15% of profits are spent on projects that support women and their families. Each textile has a story about the people who created it, how it was made and where it came from. Tradisi shares these stories and these spectacular textiles with the world.
Lovely place. Knowledgeable staff and good atmosphere. I purchased a gorgeous piece of fabric which was a silkscreened batik. Prices are higher than Ikat Batik but the fabric I purchased - enough for a dress, was reasonable, $35 Australian. Worth a visit.

Beautiful, and high-quality clothing to match. Very friendly staff. They can really take a joke ????. I generally have my Bali clothes that I wear when I am here, but not back in California - but the coat and shirts I just bought at ATC, I will be sporting all over California. I met the owner here when I was trying on a coat a couple of weeks ago. Her name is Charlotte. A very remarkable lady with quite a history in the fashion business. She gives great fashion advice. I thank her the crew at ABC for these Beautiful new clothes! I think they have 3 shops in Ubud. Sampai Jumpa Lagi ????
