The Tent House features products including: hand made soaps, lavender products, live plants, as well as patchwork cushions and curtains; over-looking Lake Dunstan from a wee heritage building.
Excellent place for lavender products, bought some lavender oil and handmade soap. The owner is very friendly. Highly recommended to check it out when you are in Cromwell.

Antiques, Collectables,Giftware, Museum... Located at what was once the railway engine shed, 400m from town An easy 3 minute walk along the Otago Rail Trail, or 1 minute drive from the Main Street of town & SH85 TCS is well signed posted from town... 65 Mitchell Street, Ranfurly 9332
We came across the Curiosity Shoppe just as we were passing through Ranfurly on the Central Otago Rail Trail. If you are into antiques then this relatively hidden spot is worth a look. They have a really eclectic range of ceramics, pottery, cutlery, and glassware etc. We pulled up our bikes just for a look and left with our panniers filled with carefully wrapped Crown Lynn treasures. They also offer shipping which is much more sensible than bumping down the trail with crockery!

Feinerman’s is a boutique gym offering group classes and personal training. As well as the gym Feinerman’s is a whole food store selling organic dried goods and a range of whole food products. This business operates in a renovated 1870’s stone building and it is worth a look inside just to see the amazing stone work.

Recent extreme weather in the upper Rangitata River prevented our travels from Picton to Dunedin. Required some quick reworking of travel plans. Our real regret was that SH1 closure at Rangitata prevented us from dropping in to Evansdale Cheese and sampling/buying a selection of their superb cheeses. Next time!!

Gilchrists General Store is the oldest continuous trading store in New Zealand of its type, dating back to 1902. The store is filled with memorabilia, equipment, and information from generations past and well worth the visit. Something for every generations nostalgic side. We also stock rail trail memorabilia, accessories and apparel. along with fresh snack food, hot pies, cold drinks, cone ice creams and a large assortment of lollies and old English sweets.
Coffee was fabulous (atomic organic), excellent service and that little bit extra. We also stayed at the B&B thats part of the store. Helen and Johns hospitality was fabulous and it was the perfect stop for our time on the Otago Rail Trail.

We made a somewhat impromptu visit to Remarkable wines after some recommendations and a quick phone call to Richard who generously made himself available to guide us through his list of ~ half a dozen of his beautiful, boutique wines. The majority of the grapes were sourced from the vines over which we were looking as we tasted, with a few from a vineyard Richard owns in the nearby Gibston Valley. Richard was extremely knowledgable and accommodating, giving passionate, rank-newbies like ourselves an easily digestive but very interesting walk through on how the wines were made, how to correctly tastes the wines and the factors going into these characteristics. Having visited many of the wineries around central otago, this was without a doubt one of our most enjoyed experiences, with incredible great value, award winning, wines and is definitely a must do for the bannockburn area. Thanks again, Richad.
