Located in remote Purnululu National Park, these eerie beehive-shaped sandstone domes are striped in orange and black and rise from the floor of Piccaninny Gorge.
Each of the walks were wonderful giving a different view of the area. Domes walk and Cathedral Gorge were easy walks. Enjoyed the Piccaninny Creek to the Lookout and Window over the smooth rock bed, some sand and rounded river rocks. Then in the north of the park, we enjoyed walking into Echidna Chasm to see the amazing colours of the rocks after 11 am. (Keep going past the round open area with a couple of benches as the chasm is further on from this, although the colours of the rocks here were also amazing. Mini Palms was also well worth it. Don't be put off by having to get through, under, around the huge boulders near the entrance, it is certainly worth it.

From our superb base at the Outback Spirit owned Ngauwudu Safari Camp, we enjoyed a delightful walk through very interesting and varied country past Merton Falls to Mitchell Falls, stopping to have a look at some aboriginal art on the way, with a helicopter ride on the way out (only way to go!). Unfortunately, the wet this year (2019) has been rather dry and so the falls were not so spectacular, but the wonderful scenery made the trip and walk very worthwhile.

Stopped along the way & hiked in to see Galvan's gorge and have lunch. Luckily the couple we were traveling with had done some research and heard there was Aboriginal art here.. it is tucked away for sure and requires some climbing over rocks around the back of the gorge but yep - it's there! An amazing find and so very special to be able to walk up and see it closely. The gorge is so peaceful - wonderful spot for lunch!

It was amazing! We went both on Low tide and Full tide, the rocks are fun to climb seeing amazing water contrast and rock colour contrast as well as enjoying the rock pools and being able to jump of the CLIFF

A Stunning array of colours as deep red dirt from the Pindan Cliffs falls onto white sand and then tumbles into the endless aquas of the ocean. Peaceful, unique, spectacular. Definitely worth the drive out to Kooljaman to have a swim and watch the world turn away from the sun :)

It's not everyday you visit a 50 million-year-old coral reef that is now a mountain range. Here at Windjana Gorge you get to see what happens when this exposed reef is cut through by a watercourse. Well worth the visit, complete with freshwater crocodiles just waiting for you to strip off and brave the pools left over from the wet season. Take a hat and some water as it gets very hot as you walk through the gorge. About 150km from Derby, you should have a 4WD vehicle for safety for this and the nearby Tunnel Creek.

This place is amazing great for a swim on the way back to Kununurra after a day exploring at Wyndham. Family of 4 with a 2 & 4 yr old, definitely needed to carry the kids as very steep steeps with no railings but well worth the effort!
