The Rhône-Alps town of Morzine is a skier’s paradise, its alpine village atmosphere emphasized by mountain ranges and chalets. Morzine has hosted the Tour de France several times, and is also home to the Avoriaz ski resort, part of the Les Portes du Soleil. The pistes and valleys are the main attractions here, and you may enjoy an après-ski soak in the unique Aquariaz, an indoor tropical waterpark.

I have used AMR for several years in Morzine and their service and standard of equipment remains first class. They may not be the cheapest ski/snowboard hire company in Morzine but their pre-arrival on-line booking system, "deliver / collect" service direct to/from the chalet, flexibility to change equipment, personal service and a good range of equipment - I would highly recommend AMR if you are staying in a chalet in the Morzine/Les Gets area. Thank you AMR.

Having your skis delivered to your chalet has to be a bonus especially when the equipment itself is first rate and the staff very knowledgeable about your requirements. They also were more than happy when I decided to change my skis after one day as I preferred some that were a little longer and, again, these were brought to the chalet at a time that was convenient to me. Cannot recommend these guys highly enough - a brilliant service

Even for beginners, this is a great way to experience the winter, especially when the sun goes down and everything takes on a special appearance in the snow. Experienced guides, and, if you want to take a spin on the snowmobile on your own (but following the guides), they are also experienced instructors. Reservations are necessary, and note that this is an activity after sunset, so if you are not staying in Avoriaz, you need to factor in your return drive down the mountain.

A big shout out to Axel and all the staff at Skiset in Avoriaz, they were super efficient, very friendly and extremely knowledgeable. The gold package boots, helmets, skis and poles we rented were both excellent quality and very good value, having done the rounds of rental shops in the village. Many thanks also for the cross-country skis and the in-shop tutorial, it was a great way of getting post-downhill cardio before dinner. We recommend Skiset without reservation.

As with every year we returned to see the guys at alpine sports to sort out renting bikes for our trip to Morzine, the boys that work their are so helpful and got the down hill bikes all set up personally for our requirements and filled us with confidence to go and hit the hill. From what I could see they are really respected for servicing as well as the mechanics where helping so many walk in customers with their own bikes fixing them there and then. Can’t recommend them enough in the confusing world of bikes , they seemed to really care about you having a good time on the trails too.

Last week in morzine my old Burton mission bindings broke on day 1. I tried 4 shops who gave me little more than a shrug and was loosing hope when I stepped into Alan's where things were totally different. They took a look and a small plastic lugg holding in a toe strap had just disintegrated. They thought the bindings were finished and had no replacement part that fitted, but rather than try and sell me new bindings they put in a new part and said let's force it, what have you got to loose? Much to my relief it worked and the only charge was the shake of the 'tips' jar. Next day different strap same part failure and back to Alan's for a second fix. Day 3 and a 3rd failure, after changing that and joking 'see you tomorrow' he checked the 4th and final toe strap fitting and had to change that too, again just for the price of a 'tip'. Couldn't thank the guy enough, kept me on the slopes for the week and saved me the cost of a new set of bindings when noone else seemed interested.

We did some research and initially contacted Star Ski via email, receiving prompt and helpful replies from Claire and Evelyne. We booked online and our gear was ready to collect when we arrived in Morzine – they allowed us to pick everything up on the Sunday, the day before our ski lessons, which was great and saved us time the following morning. Minor problems with the fit of our boots were fixed promptly and without fuss. The shop is a five minute walk to the Pleney lift and we found prices to be cheaper, in one or two cases substantially, to other hire shops. We'll definitely be using Star Ski next time. Thanks Claire and team.
