Changdeokgung Palace

This 600-year-old UNESCO World Heritage Site is the city's jewel. It's as famous for its outstanding architectural details as for its verdant and expansive gardens.

Interesting Palace to learn about ancient Korea and its architecture. The English tour guide to the hills and valleys of the Secret Garden was a superb insight to the life and times of the early dynasties. The Palace is spread over a wide area, which is mainly flat, but there are some steep areas, so allow plenty time to visit.Crowds, queues, heat not a problem in September.

Namsan Park

Reviewed By Milodecoco - Singapore, Singapore

Be there by 4:30PM, if you want to see the day view, catch the sunset, and see the night view of the Namsan Seoul Tower. Oh , there's a super long queue for the namsan cable car, but the queue goes fast. You won't mind the little wait. Just be there around 4pm - 4:30pm . You will catch 3 types of scenic views :)

Seoul Children's Grand Park

This park has it all: rides, a zoo, a park, and a concert hall. Make sure to check out the most popular event: a dazzling water-fountain music and lights show.

The park is attractive to both adults and children in autumn (late Oct./ early Nov.). The autumn colours are fascinating but they vary from year to year depending on weather, etc. This year, the summer is long and dry but the ginkgo and maple trees still show off their beautiful autumn colours, although not as good as those of last year. The park has a good zoo, apart from an amusement park, etc. I like to go there (and to the Seoul Grand Park) when I visit Seoul, as both are great places for photography and leisure.

Seoul Grand Park

The Seoul Grand Park has a good zoo and rose garden. I did not see roses in past visits but this time (late Oct.) the rose garden was filled with roses. In autumn the autumn colours are fascinating. However this year was dry and the summer was unusually long so the ginkgo and maple trees were much less attractive than last year. I like the park because it has a bird house where one could see various birds face to face ie not caged. The zoo is very large and has a wide range of animals.

Spirited Garden

In 1968, Director Sung set on his project to turn a piece of deserted 'wasteland' at Jeoji-ri, Hanyoung-myon into something else. Thanks to his strenuous efforts and strong will, we now have the beautiful garden that represents the quintessence of Jeju. Consisting of 7 small gardens and auxiliary facilities, this Spirited Garden provides spaces where you can find peace of mind surrounded by waterfall, ponds, stone bridges as well as trees. All the garden trees, bunjaes, and stones allows you to relieve yourself from any everyday life burden and to take a respite to enjoy the beauty of the nature. High walls built in order to protect trees from strong winds became castles and the architectures built to house exhibitions and to serve convenience purposes now represent the beauty of the nature in Jeju. They are sure to provide people from around the world with chances to think of a new paradigm of life

A beautiful and peaceful place where you get to enjoy the bonsai works of decades and think on life through each of their characteristic and how they were grown. Totally worth a visit and entrance fee! It was also a good experience we got to talk to the director who founded the garden! Much respect.

Daegu Arboretum

I happened to be here in early November while the Chrysanthemum Festival was taking place and it was absolutely beautiful! There were many sculptures made from Chrysanthemum flowers, so I highly recommend going there when they are in bloom. It was also fall, so the beautiful orange, yellow, and red leaves were everywhere. It was absolutely breathtaking.

Korea National Arboretum

I’ve visited many botanical gardens. Many which are beautiful and amazing. However they have had a lot of human influence. This garden is in a forest with some human influence. I feel it was set up to be a place of research of plants. Entrance fee is 1,000 won but you have to make a reservation on the website which is in Korean. Public transportation is very easy from Uijeongbu bus terminal, you can take the number 21 bus which is about 30 stops but the bus doesn’t skips most of the stops so it’s faster.
