Not too difficult to get to, beautiful in season. Park offers some nice vistas, so be sure to go on a clear day when the weather is nice. The azaleas are quite striking as they climb the hillside in happy little clumps, and there are roller slides to ride. Also a playground for kids. Above the pond there's a cafe where you can grab a drink, buy some souvenirs, have a snack and just enjoy the view. Highly recommend.

Japan does not have great playgrounds for children - at least in central touristy areas. This was great for 1 to 5 year olds. Swings, climbing and a couple of good slides, plenty of grass, shady trees and toilets. My kids loved the slide made of rollers which you don’t get in Australia and monkey bars set at the right height for 3 to 5 year olds to get on and off by themselves which we also don’t do in Australia.

This open air museum consists of nine Western-style homes built between 1868 and 1912 for Western merchants living in Japan. Glover Mansion, the most famous of these, is Japan's oldest Western-style house.
For those of you who don't know, Glover Garden is an open air museum in Nagasaki that exhibits mansions of several of the city's former foreign residents and related buildings. It is located on the hill where Western merchants settled down after the end of Japan's era of seclusion in the second half of the 19th century. As mentioned, it is on a hill. It might be very exhausting to see the whole garden, especially on a hot day. However, the view on the city from the hill is just amazing.
