We spent there few hours and enjoy every minute???? Visit in spice garden was very interesting and guide demonstrated wide knowledge about plants . Cooking classes are still in our minds... Shall explaind all spices, rules and gave us opportunity to be real part of meal preparation- Finally all was so delicious that our stomaches almost exploded. At the end there was option to buy some spices, teas etc but without pressure that we have to buy something... Recommended place!

Beautiful gardens just outside of the town, quite large well laid out and easy to navigate , lots of unusual plants and trees with a large poulation of fruit bats at the top end of the gardens. Well worth a trip and easy to spend 3 or 4 hours here. Nice orchid house and a variety of animal and bird life.

The IFS-Popham Arboretum, Sri Lanka's only dry zone arboretum was established over five decades ago on 7.5 acres of thorny scrub jungle and abandoned 'Chena' land in Dambulla which is in the geographical center of our island, where history and culture merge amidst a natural landscape of water and mountains. The arboretum is not only about trees. There and many species of Birds, Butterflies, Dragonflies, Spiders and Mammals including Bats that can be seen within the premises.
This is a must-visit place around Dambulla for nature lovers. Many different animals inside a relatively small space. However, the yellow route we took, took around 1hour to walk. There are many places around to snap a nice photo. The caretaker is very informative. You can give a donation of your choice to help maintain the place

It is the second largest botanical garden in Sri Lanka and worth a visit if you are in Nuwara Eliya. Try to take the buggy service as it is easy and joyful.

I visited the spice garden as part of an excursion arranged by my tour operator. The walk and talk through the garden was informative and interesting. We then had the chance of a free shoulder massage before visiting the shop if wished. I had a health problem which I discussed with the guide and he suggested a product which I am very happy to say has helped me and I hope to order more. I can highly recommend it.

It’s a Real Paradise for Kids! A pleasant place to go, especially if you have a small child who’s happy with a play area and doesn’t expect anything very sophisticated. All children below 12 years of age must be accompanied by an adult. This is a pretty large park, full of trees, flowerbeds, even topiary—bushes shaped into elephants, rabbits, and other creatures. There are several spaces with outdoor play structures, from slides and swings to see-saws and monkey bars. Some spaces are specially designed for younger children (with smaller slides, shorter ladders) and some for older children. Specially the Train ride is great for the kids as well as the adults! The location is heart of the town. My wife, daughter and I spent about two hours at the park. There is a very small fee to enjoy the park. Parking is available on the side streets. The scenery is beautiful and it is the perfect location for photographs. I truly recommend this park for children and as well as for adults.

New Ranweli Spice Garden is located near Peradeniya Royal Botanical Garden. Send us an email for a pick up from Kandy town to the spice garden.
Asanka is a knowledgeable and personable host, from arranging a tuk-tuk pick-up to explaining all about the spices around the small garden that he manages. We had a fantastic time learning, and exchanging our own experiences on medicinal uses of spices and beyond. A highlight of our time in Kandy indeed.
