The 10 Best Game & Entertainment Centers in Utah, United States

July 19, 2021 Alice Mieles

Welcome to “The Greatest Snow on Earth” – Utah’s paradise for all outdoor enthusiasts! As host of the 2002 Winter Olympics, Park City knows how to entertain winter fun seekers. Snowboarders and skiers head for miles of spectacular slopes with deep fluffy powder and breathtaking mountain views. The Olympic Park provides family-friendly ski programs, rides and shows. Alta, Sundance, Snowbird and Brighton are other popular destinations for cross country and Alpine skiers. Those alluring snowy slopes turn to rolling wildflower fields in the summer. Golfing, fishing, horseback riding and water sports replace chilly outdoor sports adventures. Corral the family, pack a picnic and catch one of the ski lifts for an afternoon of hiking or mountain biking along scenic trails. Head to Salt Lake City, where Temple Square hosts millions of visitors a year. Bryce Canyon and Arches National Park are famous for surreal landscapes from horseshoe-shaped amphitheaters to unusual rock formations and hundreds of natural sandstone arches. Closer to home, wander along the quaint main streets of mountain villages to browse, shop and enjoy lunch at an outdoor café. At the end of the day, head home for an outdoor barbecue and an evening of games. Home rentals blend privacy, space and comfort with the cost-saving advantage of eating some meals at home.

Wardle Regional Park

This is a new family-oriented park half an hour south of Salt Lake City. There is no charge at all, and crowds have not found it yet. It is the largest "splash pad" in Utah, but that title sells it short. This is a very large recreational area full of fountains, waterfalls, wading streams, and extremely creative play equipment. My grandchildren used the vast area of rock walls, niches, and boulders on several levels to play hide and seek with water guns and hundreds of good hiding spots. This would be best for kids from 1 to 12. Surrounded by grassy hills sloping gently above the play valley, and pavilions for picnics, it is a perfect place to spread out blankets and have a picnic and not spend a cent.

Axe throwing...who knew that our wives were going to enjoy this just as much, if not more so, than we did! We had a blast and everyone around us was having a great time. Don't settle on dinner and a movie...TRY THIS OUT--you will not be disappointed! It's so different from any other activity you've tried. The instruction was great and the games were challenging (e.g., underhand, two axes at the same time, striking the bullseye and clutches, throwing cross lanes, etc.). The only downside was how fast the time flew by...way too fast! Are you a bad axe...then go get your name on the Bullseye wall. I can't wait to try the Atlatl. Our children really enjoyed the VR (virtual reality), but had to agree that axe throwing was really addictive, fun, and challenging.

We almost got out - we just needed two more minutes! Our host Katrina was great! We have also escape from Under Pressure, which is also an amazing room. Escapology have some of the best escape rooms around.
