New York State has it all – booming metropolises, majestic waterfalls, mountains, wine country, chicken wings. Yes, NYC is a magnet for tourists, but an exploration of the rest of the state can be equally thrilling. The Finger Lakes Wine Region is a vision of serene waters, quaint B&Bs, and pretty vineyards. Movie buffs will love Rochester, home of the George Eastman House and one of the world’s most comprehensive film archives. On your way to Niagara Falls, stop in Buffalo to fuel up on spicy wings.

Boots and Birdies is a unique family fun center that has 18 challenging holes of miniature golf along with a mining sleuth for gemstone mining.
We ran around Lake Placid all day and wanted to unwind. As we were heading back to our motel, we spotted Boots and Birdies mini golf. We hadn't done this in years and I'm glad we did! Very nice course. Kids will like it for the caves! A fun activity that won't break the bank!

This was our first escape room ever and we as a family had so much fun. We were grateful for the hints we received and being able to escape, just a few minutes late. Thank you very much.

Clue Chase is New York City's largest escape game center. Our mission-based play style, expertly crafted puzzles, and large rooms designed by actual film and TV set designers make Clue Chase the most exciting room escape center in New York City. You will become a spy during the Cold War, an archaeologist trapped in an Egyptian tomb, a real life Robin Hood stealing valuables back from a master thief, or travel to an unknown galaxy to prove humanity's worth to intergalactic civilization. Clue Chase is an exciting adventure to share with friends, coworkers, and family of all skill levels.
Such an amazing spot! I have been to all four of Clue Chase's rooms, and they are all amazingly designed and very challenging and fun. The puzzles in the rooms are very creative, and the rooms are definitely a great activity for people of all ages. The staff are all very helpful and friendly and will give you extra clues if you need help while in a room. They are also very understanding if you have a member who is running late (as this has happened to me on almost every occasion), and will let them in late or let you wait for them. I have done three of the rooms with groups, and one of them in which we were with people we didn't know. While it may sound daunting to be locked in a room with strangers, we definitely all had a great time. I definitely have to say that Alien Encounter is my favorite, as the room has a great design, and the puzzles require a lot of team effort. I actually did this one with a group I was in a play with, and we all had to act as our character in the show. It was a great character-building exercise, and I would totally do this room again! I also appreciate how there is a story connecting the rooms, unlike some other escape-the-room places. I cannot wait for Clue Chase to make another room!

The Museum of Intrigue is a theatrical adventure for all ages. Come in and find an immersive world that needs your help to save the day. Choose the story that you want to experience from our bookshelf, and start your adventure. We have stories that average anywhere from 20-60 minutes, however, we don't time you! Take your time to enjoy the whole museum, interacting with strange characters, and seeing its mysteries unfold as you play, move, solve, riddle, and discover.
We have been there a few times and enjoyed each time. My daughter who doesn't often like to do family activities loves it and looks forward to doing it each time we come up. this time we were a large group of 8 people. We played the Salem witch game. You have to go around the museum finding clues and solving puzzles. The one we played we had to guest 2 people in the group who were the witches. The witches could also put curses on other players. For each puzzle you solved you eared coins. At the ed you put coins in a box to vote for who you thought were the witches. If you guested right, they were burned at the stake otherwise the one with the most coins was burned at the stake . Our group included a grandfather, mother and father, uncle and aunt, and three adult children. The museum is in Destiny Mall which also has many other forms of entertainment in it.

Bury the Hatchet’s warehouse-style space is expressly for ax-throwing. First, instructors lead one-on-one safety lessons before the one and a half hour sessions get underway. Bury the Hatchet works tournament-style, letting groups of up to 12 players compete against each other in knockout rounds.
We had such a great time throwing axes at this place for our first time. Friendly staff all around, including our axe masters who explained everything to us patiently and guided us through some fun games. My only tiny grievance is about the tipping. I had no clue it was expected and not sure what was appropriate. Why can’t this just be a line item included with the total cost, like a service charge? We were having such a great time and then we noticed the sign about tipping and were scrambling to figure it out. It’d be nice if a service charge was built into the price so we could just enjoy the experience. Aside from that tiny snag, we had a great great time and definitely will be going back!

The Lazy Axe is an indoor axe throwing facility in Albany, New York. We strive to create a safe, high-quality, accessible, and unique experience that brings people together through the thrilling sport of axe throwing. We value safety, respect, and the power of play, and look to provide top notch customer service to all of our guests.
My wife and I were looking for something fun and challenging that was also reasonably "pandemic friendly". The Lazy Axe was an awesome hour that succeeded in all regards. We did a "small group" session that included an hour of personalized guidance, feedback on how to improve our throws, guided games, and teaching us some trick shots. The attached picture is an example of one of many great throws resulting from their excellent guidance.
