Bolton (/ˈbɒltən/ ( listen) or locally [ˈbɜʏtn̩]) is a town in Greater Manchester in North West England. A former mill town, Bolton has been a production centre for textiles since Flemish weavers settled in the area in the 14th century, introducing a wool and cotton-weaving tradition. The urbanisation and development of the town largely coincided with the introduction of textile manufacture during the Industrial Revolution. Bolton was a 19th-century boomtown, and at its zenith in 1929 its 216 cotton mills and 26 bleaching and dyeing works made it one of the largest and most productive centres of cotton spinning in the world. The British cotton industry declined sharply after the First World War, and by the 1980s cotton manufacture had virtually ceased in Bolton.

Voted Best Tourism Experience at Lancashire and Blackpool Tourism Awards 2011 and nominated in the Visit Lancashire for Small Visitor Attraction in 2014. It's got to be one of Lancashire's best days out and that's not just us saying that (check out our feedback!). With breathtaking scenery, amazing tree top obstacles and awesome zip lines, Rivington is sure to be a day out in Lancashire you won't forget. You are guaranteed a warm welcome at Rivington Tree Top Adventure. It's home to one of the most exciting zip wires: You'll cross a bay in the reservoir and get a bird's eye view over the water. With its rugged hills, picturesque reservoirs and woodlands bustling with wildlife, Rivington is one of Lancashire's 'must visit' locations. A gem in its own right and on the doorstep of Manchester, one of the most vibrant cities in the UK.
My wife an I received gift vouchers last Christmas. Due to Covid, the activity was closed during the summer. We decided to wait until schools returned before booking our slot mid week. Each session accommodates up to 14 people. The instructors were friendly, knowledgable and engaging and everything felt clean and Covid friendly. A few simple procedures along the route ensured social distancing between groups and all participants were respectful to each other. So, what was the course like? It was an exhilarating couple of hours that we will be repeating next year. We arrived back home with a huge smile on our face. Anyone with a reasonable level of fitness will still be challenged. Those that dont participate in regular exercise will probably ache the following day. There are 5 sections and some offer a trickier option. All are very safe and well maintained. The 'Tarzan' swing at the end is a leap of faith (literally). If you are at the front of the pack (which we were), the aerial runway at the end of section 4 has an exit sign which we followed, thinking it was the end of the adventure. There is actually a final section that requires looping back into the woodland. This is not clearly signposted. We missed it and headed back. Fortunately, the team were 'on it' and realised our mistake. They re harnessed us and we completed the course.

An expanded area will incorporate some 6,000 sq ft of fun over three levels and includes over forty individual activities, such as ball pool, swinging donuts, racing slide, spiral slide, aerial runway, rope course and crawl tube. In addition the park will be adding an additional cafe area, based on the Starbuck’s concept, offering a range of hot drinks and high quality snacks.
First time I’ve taken these 3 together aged 10, 5 & 3 years and opted for the Family session. 1 hour on the trampolines and 1 hr in the soft play. It was great that they were all able to enjoy bouncing around together, with plenty of staff to supervise though the youngest needed an adult with them while jumping. The soft play area had lots to keep them occupied while we sat in the café with a drink. We ordered meals from the café in the soft play area which we found to be good (menu caters more towards children) but the upstairs café does offer a slightly different menu and it is also a good place to watch children when on the trampolines. We had a great time, staff were really friendly and helpful, the place is clean and tidy, we will definitely be returning.

Absolutely amazing take my nephew here often and even at 7 months old he absolutely loves it. There’s something for kids of all ages and the food and drinks are lovely. Would highly recommend the smoothies as a treat for yourself whilst you treat your little ones to a day out! To top it all off everything is so cheap and the staff are so lovely!
