The lovely surroundings and care and time taken by the owners to make this a safe and relaxing environment. Proper hygiene measures in place. A unique and picturesque course without the usual tat and commercialism. Each hole was different and a variety of fun and challenge. A fantastic family activity!

This is our family's favourite cinema in the area......let me tell you why. You are assured of a warm welcome in this wonderful cinema with very affordable prices for families. Housed in an Art Deco building with original fixtures and fittings, tickets are priced at £3.50 and reasonably priced refreshments include a range of hot & cold drinks, savoury snacks, sweets and popcorn in a variety of bucket sizes to suit. The seats are comfortable and it's warm and cosy, with two screens: a large screen downstairs (which has some double seats) and a smaller one upstairs. Great for children's birthday visits, as the cinema has a lovely Art Deco cafe room at the back where families can meet up to drop off their children beforehand - it's like stepping back in time. Always showing the latest films and a matinee available too. We love the Palace!

Forest of Dean Adventure Golf (Pirate Island) is a 12 hole adventure golf experience in a beautiful country setting on the edge of the Royal Forest of Dean. The course is designed for people of all ages and abilities. There is also a small cafe with viewing balcony, a picnic area and a play park. Due to COVID-19 we are running a booking only system so we suggest you book early to avoid disappointment. We are open on Tuesdays during school term (subject to pre booking) i.e. if we have no bookings for a Tuesday we will not be open.
We had a great morning playing golf for my 40th birthday with my husband and 7 year old son, brilliant course, staff are lovely and friendly, course has fun holes and 2 raft crossings and water features, good social distancing measures and being outside we felt safe. We didn't have time to stop for refreshments afterwards but the cakes looked lovely and the prices looked good. We are definitely coming back with friends soon and we'll stay for food afterwards. I would highly recommend this place xx

Outdoor Laser Tag - just like paintball but without the pain! We have over 10 years experience of hosting exceptional events. Outdoor laser tag is the perfect activity for groups, parties and family fun. We use the very latest digital laser guns which have red dot scopes and instant player statistics feedback. Think Call of Duty mixed with Fortnite but played outside with all your friends and family. Perfect for Our battlefield is built on the edge of the Forest of Dean with themed bases, barricades, bunkers and a sneaky flanking woodland. Available to all ages 7 years upwards. Perfect for parties, family fun, stag & hen groups, sports teams and corporate Team Building. Great for large group bookings!
Fantastic place for a birthday party. Everyone had such a good time and have been raving about it ever since. Sarah and the lads were all really lovely and helpful - we had to cancel at short notice due to illness and then again because of lockdown and they were just so understanding. Some grown ups enjoyed a cuppa on the decking area, whilst others got stuck in with the kids. Cannot recommend Battlesports enough!

Climbing, High Ropes, Archery, Birthday parties, Stag/Hen do's, Corporate events schools/colleges and youth work. Days out and taster sessions.
We booked activities for 8 of us for a girls weekend away (14/12/19). After researching online for nearby outdoor activities, half of us decided to do the 1hr Assault Course and the other half chose the 2hr Adventure Challenge. The assault course is pretty short and straightforward at first glance ..but not to be underestimated! We completed the course 4 times but each time with a new team challenge and new props to get around the obstacles. Really entertaining, lots of friendly competition and plenty of giggles and bruises! It's tough on your knees fyi! The other half of our group didn't go ahead with the Adventure Challenge (the height spooked some people once they saw it!) but it wasn't a problem, our instructor kindly let us all take part in the Archery activity instead. Great instruction and made really fun! Definitely recommend this company - good humble outdoor fun for friends and family. We're all in our mid thirties and thought it was great!

2 Screen Art Deco cinema. Part of the Merlin Cinemas Group. Blockbusters and events on the big screen!
Went to my local cinema to see Star Wars. This was my first time here and I was impressed. First, I was hugely impressed at how inexpensive tickets were compared to the large chains...big plus. Staff were very friendly and efficient. Seats were comfortable, plenty of leg room. Screen size was all good and everything was well managed. If I had one SMALL criticism (and it's only because I'm a purist) it's that the sound system isn't quite up to standard. The bass could be deeper, far more middle and a LOT less treble...and the surround element greatly improved. That said, for a town cinema it was good enough and didn't detract. And the film? Awesome! Big thumbs up to The Studio Cinema - highly recommended.
