Live in or visiting the Chelmsford area and looking to try something amazing? Come and have a go at the towns permanent escape experience! Chelmsford Escape Rooms is located a short distance from the town centre with free parking outside. Escape rooms are a form of live entertainment where you’ll solve a series of puzzles in order to escape before the time runs out. Discover clues and receive hints in our fully immersive purpose built themed environment. This is an interactive event. Games Masters will greet you and help you throughout your experience, but they will not be physically present inside of the escape room (unless otherwise stated). In teams of 2-10 people come and see if you can escape the room in 60 minutes. Sounds scary? It’s really not; a little common sense and logical thinking and you could escape!
A super time was had by our family attempting The Last Testament on a wet Sunday afternoon. Attention to detail on the design and furnishings was terrific and we enjoyed the variety of puzzles, clues and locks, but most of all the atmosphere. We were well but not too much supported and managed to finish with 3 minutes left, which obviously made it particularly satisfactory. Everyone contributed in differnet ways. A special shout out to Joanna the Game Master who was enthusiastic and informative and made the whole thing very enjoyable and was able to give us quite a bit of time at the end too. I'd heartily recommend.

Escape Reality - the best gaming arena in Essex. Our Virtual Reality booths are simply the best around, due to our vast game library, two player experiences and our incredible prices. Prices are per booth, not per person, meaning if you want to book an hour and share it with 3-4 friends then you can and the price doesn't change. We also have an incredible gaming arena: Four XBOX's, 4K TV's and sofas for you and friends to relax on. Four high end gaming PC's ready for all your e-Sports needs. Enough hardware for 14 people to be playing a game at any one time. Birthday parties are simply a must at Escape Reality. You get exclusive use of the whole arena and everything in it with two party hosts to look after your every need. You can invite up to 20 guests. Prices are for the whole room and not per person. We also host E-Sport tournaments with huge prizes, mobile VR experiences that can be hired for your next corporate or charity event and regular special offer, low priced entry nights.
Wanted to give something different a go for date night and found this! Booked in for an hour session- had an amazing time trying a wide variety of games as suggested by Sam, who was a brilliant host. Would highly reccomend for all ages- Sam really has a game or experience suggestion for every mood and preference, even if you aren't an avid gamer! Thank you for a wonderful evening and we'll definitely be back soon and reccomending to our friends and family :)

Off road driving adventures using miniature Landrover Discoveries for children aged between 3 and 10 years of age. Choose between field and farm safaris. Online booking is essential.
Took my 6 year old nephew today, he loved it! Adrian was our guide and was kind and gentle with the children, he gave clear instructions. It was a full 30 minutes of the children driving a Jeep thought the fields, negotiating corners and hills whilst seeing the horses and chickens along the way. I totally recommend this wonderful activity for children ( also was a nice walk for us adults too!) Good fresh air fun!

We chose this venue for a birthday party for our child today with over 20 children present. I cannot thank the team at Mace Playce enough for all their help and organisation. They made the whole experience stress free and great fun. They contacted us a few days before to confirm numbers and reassured us that we would only be charged for the children that attended on the day. They took care of the party bags also, there was no way we could have got all the bits that were in the party bag for the price they charged. Other parents were telling me that they had not been there before and were very complimentary on the layout, cleanliness and organisation. I would definitely recommend this venue to others!

Visited a few times over the last few months and definitely our favourite cinema. Cosy and comfortable sofa seats, any drinks and snacks you order at the bar beforehand are brought to your seat. Very relaxed, clean and good ambiance throughout - so much better than other cinemas we have been to.

Third visit to this museum, this time with family.Boys8/12yrs),they had a great time in play area and we all enjoyed the walk outside, then roast dinner and brunch,in Hive cafe, onto museum, the industrial section was fascinating especially the radio room of titanic, with adult input for the boys it brings them into focus on the displays,as we entered each room ,it was tastefully presented ,some activities for children to do,we had to complete the word search in the ceramics room before moving on,the bee hive, Fascinating, and boys enjoyed the wildlife section, the military displays are so good .Where can you go with/without a family for Free admission,Free parking!! The gift shop is too near the first displays which decreases the attention of children to look at displays there.
