The Heritage Rail Trail County Park is located in York PA. It begins a the Colonial Courthouse in York PA and heads south for 21.1 miles to the Maryland line where it connects with the Torry C. Brown Rail Trail. The trail surface is stone.
Great trail -- changes name at the state line and continues to almost Baltimore. We parked at the county park at the new northern end (bathrooms!) but would have gone to the Route 30 trailhead if we had known about it. Had intended to park in downtown York but there's really no place for those who want to be out all day. 27 miles to the state line, 27 miles back. One suggestion: signage in all the town directing users to food and ice cream. Missing a chance to support local businesses!

Stopped in to market for lunch while town. Lots of options, fun and vibrant atmosphere. Kids had pulled pork, dads had fried chicken. Great fish gumbo, tasty pretzel stand. If you like architecture, beautiful old building.

Beautiful lake, had a great hike all the way around Redman and Williams. A couple of tunnels under I-83 were very wet but otherwise a nice walk with good water views. I-83 is pretty loud and runs right thru the park.
