The Wrekin

I went up, down and around the Wrekin. It was half term and the on road parking was pretty much gone before 10am although the car park had lots of space. I kept to the main path to the summit. It was on this path I saw most people. At the trig point at the top most people seemed to turn around and descend the same way. I went over the top to pick up a permitted path and return to the car park along the side of the hill. The path down is steep be aware. The permitted path through the woods is lovely and apart from a couple of cyclists (these are not permitted ????) who thought I should have gotten out of their way, it was a wholly enjoyable experience. It was about 4 miles and just over 2 hours

what a great pub. Regularly visit here and no matter what time or what day you go it always has a fantastic atmosphere. A variety of ages, no TV's no load music just good drink and good company. Everyone is friendly. difficult to get a seat sometimes but people come and go all the time and most people offer to share tables. They do a great pork pie and a great meat and cheese platter. Staff always friendly and there selection of real ales and Gins are amazing. no other pub in Shropshire compares. although you don't see many kids they are very welcome and are often bought by grandparents

Apley woods is a fantastic place to walk the dog, it is a wooded area with paths to walk along, I visit the woods 2/3 times a week and it generally takes around 40/50 minutes to do two laps of the woods with the dog. There is more to explore in the middle of the woods such as a pond where you can feed ducks. Next to the woods is a large open field which is excellent for letting your dog stretch their legs. This leads onto a fishing pond which you can also walk around if you are after a longer walk. There is free parking for up to 3 hours at the entrance near the hospital.

Booked via phone and was causally welcomed, asked to scan code and all covid rules were followed. Felt very comfortable with the space given to us and away from others. Liquor lab have now got a code on the table which you load on your phone and allows you to order quickly, efficiently and contactless. The app is easy to use for both food and drinks. Food provided by the vendor was lush. I went for The Spanish Dogg’ which came with slightly seasoned skin on fries. Would totally recommend by company had the Notorious P.I.B fries and the regular Salty Dogg.. all looked great. Drinks we made to the establishments usuals good standard. I had the below: Pornstar Martini Raspberry Rippltini Alabama Slammer Two To Tango Would totally recommend each one of these! Also the festive range is great and would suggest getting on those before they are gone. Thanks for a great visit and look forward to the next.
