The craftsmanship of Knigovez is synonym for authentic and timeless products. The idea to create a brand that will move to higher level begins in our workshop in Bitola in 1979. Where for the first time I sent the seance of paper and books. Following the new trends we move to Ohrid and opened new workshop adding leather in a process of making handmade products with creative ideas realized in unique forms. Knigovez participates and supports craft events in Macedonia, Serbia and Turkey. Showing our products, making new contacts and invite our customers in our workshop, for making covers for books, hand stitching on leather, presenting hand carving on leather. Our motto is: Always be sincere to yourselves and all customers. Never promise to fulfill something you are not capable. Discover yourself, analyze your own capacities, respect your competition, be persistent, learn and stay informed.

Beautiful place, the castle ruling over the lake, a monastery further on that shows the quietness of the place... Really deserves a visit

As if landed on a hill, you can see it everywhere - if you are above it, if you are on a boat tour (the view is amazing at sunset), from both shores. From the playground in front of the church the view is also amazing, it is no accident a favorite decor for wedding photos. The church itself is in a typical orthodox style, renovated, much attended. You can reach it from downtown or from the fortress, but you must. You will not regret it.

The National Workshop for Handmade Paper is one of the seventh in the World in which the paper is made in the original Chinese way from Second Century BC. The method is unique and it revives the old tradition in Ohrid. Don't miss the unique opportunity to be presented this way of making the paper and imprint your memories from Ohrid on Gutenberg's press from XVth century.
I loved this because I've never been to a paper museum. I found the tour to be very brief, but I walked out with a perfect understanding of medieval paper making and printing processes. I liked that because there was no entry fee, I could instead spend my money buying an original handmade paper print. Because this is so quick an also free, I think it definitely warrants a stop on your Ohrid tour!

St Kiril and St Metodi, were the ones who invented and then spread the Cyrillic (Cyril named after Kiril in our national language) alphabet throughout the entire slavic speaking world. The monument is basically just a statue, however it holds important historical value, and is located as many other churches and monuments, at the end of the Corso in Ohrid before the lake. You only need a few minutes there to take some snaps of them holding up the aphabet.
