Rented a house form the owners a few months before Irma. Glad to see they rebuilt. Excellent wine selection and gourmet foods.

I have been wanting a TRUE Swiss Watch for decades--not just one with the inner workings designed or manufactured there, but one in which the entire construction and production was done there. Having seen the large inviting building on St. Maarten, I walked in out of curiosity, believing they would be outside my price range, because on the cruise ship TISSOT watches were in the upper hundreds of dollars ($700-$900+). I met with Sales Consultant Daniel Darder (originally from Spain but now permanently living on the island). He is FANTASTIC! So low pressure as to be NO pressure. Daniel listened to my request and said that Tissot and Swiss Army watches could be had for under $500 there (battery operated only--automatic ones are in that upper range). Afraid that the one my eye was drawn to was too expensive, I was delighted to find it was $466! I made the purchase, and in doing so had a delightful conversation with Mr. Darder as he filled me in with much information about my new watch. My attempts to locate a comparable watch online also met with the higher price range, but even if the same, nothing beats trying the watch on in person. It is almost worth it to take the cruise if you know you want a Swiss watch because you may well be saving enough money to pay for half of your cruise! Thanks Daniel!!!

The Wall of Art is an outdoor museum that was created by French Artists after Hurricane Irma to show the resilience of the people of Saint-Martin to rebuild their beautiful island. It is a colorful wall full of love, passion and inspiration of over 15 artists. It is a km long....
I’ve been coming to St Martin for years (before and after hurricane Irma) and everything about this island is magic. From the beaches to its people, a more beautiful island can’t be found! The Wall of Art was built partially to show the people’s strength and endurance after the tragedy of Irma but also to give locals and visitors a sense of hope and to feel as though you are truly part of this magical place. The Homage Hotel (formally Mercure) and its staff helped to organize this amazing art installation and it’s such a lovely part of the experience as you travel from one end of the island to the other. It’s an incredible piece of art but more importantly it symbolizes the island mentally of community and support! A must see!!!!

Beautiful beach - blue water and white sand. What you expect a Caribbean beach to look like! Very little seaweed. As the beach drops off pretty rapidly so you need to be careful about getting in and out of the water and watch the wave sets carefully.
