The Church was built with my Great Grandfather and his father working as stone masons. I have been there several times and interacted with some distant relatives. I saw the house where my grandmother was born in 1887. The towns people were very welcoming to a person with deep roots in there culture and rolled out the red carpet for us We stayed in a cave hotel in Matera which was interesting and had a great dinner there! Saw the Sassi. We were also able to get to see Alberobello and the famous Trulli.
