A trail in the Olympic National Forest.
A short hike through the woods and across a creek from the Storm King Ranger Station brings you to these wonderful falls. An early arrival ensures you small crowds and a time to view the falls without feeling rushed. The trail is mostly flat except for the final bit where stairs rise to the falls view platform. Photos are best taken from the viewing platform.

This popular coastal area was converted from an old military fort after World War II.
This is a really nice campground for both RV's and tent campers. The RV slots are large and most have a water view. The tent campground seemed to have some really nice secluded spots. Camp host was very friendly and the dump station and overall park was very clean and well taken care of.

Trust funded City owned facility and acreage devoted to the exhibition of and education about fine art.
Difficult to find but interesting small park that leads to Artist House (which was closed when we visited). Lots of cool outdoor sculptures and and:or yard art like a beautiful rock stream. Small but nice.

The cost of entry into the park is $30, for a seven day pass - and it’s well worth it. At the visitors center there are two smaller trails (.8 Hall of Moses and another 1.5 mile hike) and a long 3 day hike. The beauty of the drive in is astonishing. At Sol Duc there’s a easy hike up to a beautiful waterfall. Cabin Renters ONLY can use the hot springs due to COVID-19, and Sol Duc is shutting down 1 month earlier than usual (Sept. 29th). A word of advice - if booking a cabin at Sol Duc (inexpensive and very nice) BOOK WAY IN ADVANCE (at least a few months in advance) as they are VERY POPULAR

Washington Lavender is an oceanfront lavender farm on ten acres in the Sequim Valley overlooking the Strait of Juan de Fuca between Sequim, and Port Angeles, Washington. Home of fine "Martha's Own" lavender products and the George Washington Inn, a B&B replica of George Washington's home.
While driving out of Olympic National Park, we saw the sign to the Washington Lavender Farm and decided to have a look. We were pleasantly surprised to see that Lavender grows all the way up in Washington (We always thought that it is confined to Provence in France......). The little store is quaint and has some nice souvenirs and lavender products. The B&B house at the end of the grounds is magnificent, with great ocean views.......Pity we didn't know about it when planning our trip....What a grand place to stay!! We did, however, take the path to the cliff overlooking the ocean.....Beautiful. Lovely Lavender farm!! Great Surroundings and Setting!!

This is a beautiful area just a short drive from the highway to the parking area, and then a short paved and easy walk to the 100' falls. Along the way is a forest with some wonderful old cedar trees (some are up to 30 feet around.) The rushing Elwha River meanders to the sea. All combine to make some nice vacation photos. Good signage and a ranger on hand + restrooms.

Recommended by front desk staff of Olympic Lodge. Excellent directions and information. We saw many seals looking for their morning meal. Many large ships and USCG station. Excellent off the path visit!

Once you arrive in Port Angeles, head to the visitor center for maps and insider tips from the locals! Tucked in the rain shadow of the Olympic Mountains, Port Angeles is the epicenter for the Olympic Peninsula and the gateway to the Olympic National Park. Our small-ish seaside-meets-mountain town has nuggets of history, hints of fame, bewitching beauty, and adventure waiting to be discovered.
The visitor Center was our first stop on a summer road trip around the Olympic Peninsula. The staff, I think they were volunteers from the community, were so friendly helpful. We left with maps and some very welcome advice on the sights to see, particularly with young children. What a great service!
