If you are on your way to the Fish Rover Canyon (or back), do yourself an unforgattable favour and visit Katrin at Naute Kristall. If you have some more time, phone in advance for a light "pairing" lunch. She will offer you a wine and liquor tasting with loads of experience w.r.t. the challenges that they face in the Namibian climate. Their products are of excellent quality (Gin as well) and you should invest in a bottle or two... One of your highlights in the southern part of Namibia!

Erongo Mountain Winery is opened for personal tours and intimate wine tastings! Explore our process, and gain insight into the fermentation of our wines in our imported French oak barrels. Experience first hand the distilling of our different Namibian-made liqueurs and natural alcohol. Enjoy delicious wines and liqueurs in our elegant Tasting Room over looking the vineyards, backed by the beautiful Erongo mountains. We offer indoor and outdoor seating, as well as a variety of snacks, Flammkucken, and excellent coffee. Our Winery is situated along the Omaruru river at 1200m above sea level and surrounded by the beautiful rugged mountains of the Erongo region (Namibia). This trailblazing and innovative boutique winery is pioneering the Namibian wine industry, carving out its legacy in the arid dry granite rock.
We visited Erongo Moutain Winery with friend and we had our kids with us. We heard that it was an awesome establishment and just had to try it. Upon arrival we were greeted by Boppy. Although Namibia is experiencing a record 7year drought, and the vineyards are quite dry, our expectations was exceeded. We could not believe that such a place existed in Namibia. We booked a tour which was also presented by Boppy, which she handled with great passion and very professional. We had lunch and did wine tasting while we had lunch which was very nice and relaxing. The food was truly amazing, we ordered from the starters, mains and desert and it was devine to say the least. All the dishes was very well presented and the taste was out of this world. The dish that stood out was the Half liquid chocolate cake. The wines was also very nice to taste, and the apertifs I really enjoyed. The kids was very well taken care of as well. All in all, we had an awesome time at Erongo Mountain Winery and their Jewel reastaurant. The menus and wines are very well priced. We had such a great time and time flew by while we enjoyed the delightful food and drinks. This establishment comes highly recommended! We will visit again. When traveling through Omaruru this place is a must visit.

We spent a afternoon and Morning at Epupa falls, the Falls are beautiful and we really enjoyed visiting there, it was quiet due to Covid 19 but I think when everything is open again it can be quite busy with Tourists, I found the afternoon visit the best for Photography. There are a number of falls along the river and you need to walk along the track on the hillside on the opposite side of the waterfall to get to see all the various waterfalls

Beautiful and serene park with amazing Quiver Trees and ancient Rock formations. Day visits and camping. Photography
We wanted to see the endemic Quiver trees. There is only a small spot on earth where they occur in such a dense manner: the area around Keetmanshoop in the south of Namibia. There are two spots where you can camp in the middle of the trees. Because of its location and the reviews on TA, we chose the Garas Park Rest Camp. It was July, the night was bitterly cold, but we were equipped accordingly. In the camp there are hot showers in the morning. There is also a common room where everyone can charge their power banks, cell phones etc. overnight. The facilities of the campground are modest, that was honestly declared. Therefore, this review does not judge the number of stars to be awarded, but rather our experience at Garas Park Rest Camp. The water is brought from Keetmanshoop by tanks to the campground. Although, whoever makes it to this remote part of the world is largely self-sustaining anyway. Moreover, this patch of earth is also an example of how creativity and functionality can be integrated by simple means. My favorite is the men's urinal. This review would not be credible if there wasn't something negative. The only thing that comes to mind is its ideal location for a stopover. At night you can hear the trucks on the B1 from afar. Would I camp there again? Yes, in any case. Highly recommended - especially for people who want to take these wonderful and almost unreal pictures of the Quiver trees. These can only be shot at sunset and sunrise. Thanks Marian, gladly again.

The Dune 7 in Walvis Bay , Namibia is a wonder. The expansive swathed of high sand dunes just adjacent and parallel to the Atlantic Ocean coastline is a convergrnce of two extremes -the Atlantic Ocean and the Namib Desert. The two ecosystems create a cool environment under an otherwise scorching desert sun. Climbing the dune to the peak is no mean task, but watching 7 year olds do it clearly is an inspiration to try, soldier on and conquer .. I did. I met friends from Iceland at the peak. Yes, people from Iceland at the peak of a Namib desert dune! It was an experience to behold. There is no need at all to use any travel agent for this adventure. The Dune 7 is straight forward. Drive yourself there or simply take taxi. No fee is charged at the site .. Namibian Govt is clearly leaving money on the table. However next to the Dune 7 is the Dune 7 adventure. The only facility at the site where one can enjoy very good meals and cold drinks, catch up with friends via free WiFi.. take a shower , do quad bike rides to the expansive desert and the dunes. This is no doubt , the Namibia's ' great pyramids'.

We took the climb up the Spreeshooghte Pass and down again en route from Sossusvlei to Swakopmund. If you have the time, it’s worth the diversion as the sweeping views out to the west are magnificent. The road Is concrete blocks, so very easy.
