I did this during December 2020 wet season when the creeks and falls were flowing after lots of rain, the mist was thick and the plants were lush and green from plenty of water. The walk was magical and because it was deceptively overcast with light rain I had this beautiful oasis to myself. The plant & tree life was amazing with diverse species (many explained with interpretive signage). I spotted lots of birds and many white cockatoos near the Gorge. The start of the walk is the car park near Lake Baroon and is part of a 10km walk to Kondalilla Falls that also marks the start of the 59km Great Walk. I clocked about 5km as I did the offshoot walks to Obi Obi Creek & Narrows Lookout as well (the latter had a pretty waterfall that I swam under). Baroon Lookout is spectacular and gives you an awe inspiring view of Lake Baroon and Obi Obi Gorge from a towering height. The walk is not difficult but has a few moderate uphill sections and will give you a bit of a workout. I felt like I was in the remote jungle and the smells after the rain were intoxicating. If the first 2-3kms of the Great Walk is as good as this, I’m keen to give this monster of a walk a go!

We had a couple of rainy days while in Montville and decided to have a couples massage at the last minute. The staff at the Montville Visitor Information Centre were great. They called around to find a spa that could accommodate a last minute request for us. Thanks.

We came out to kondalilla after going into Noosa and not wanting to deal with the amount of people at the nation park and town. Great choice, it was Friday afternoon and plenty of car parks available. Greeted with a large grassed area for picnics and rest areas, with well maintained amenities and picnic tables on the edge of the bush land. The walk consisted of well maintained and signed tracks, the waterfall is 85 metres high and the gorge it runs into is breathtaking. With a great pool area at the top of the waterfall for bathing. Defiantly recommend 10/10.

Clock Shop is an established and well known business on the beautiful Sunshine Coast. Nestled in the mountain village of Montville the Clock Shop has been importing genuine German clocks for over 25 years and specialises in quality timepieces for all types of decor. Cuckoo clocks are at the heart of this wonderful business. With literally hundreds of cuckoo clocks ticking as you walk through the door of the gorgeous stone and shingle building, you will be amazed at the sheer number of clocks and the enchanting sounds of cuckoos, chimes, and tick tocks as you wander through the store. European Christmas decorations also add to the warmth and charm, almost drawing you away to somewhere deep in the Black Forest in Germany. As well as clocks and Christmas decorations, you'll find watches, German beer steins, music boxes, carvings and other fascinating souvenirs from Germany. Be sure to call into the Clock Shop and see for yourself the incredible range of German clocks.

We went to this lovely restaurant today with friends. Devonshire tea scones were beautiful and coffee was hot and delicious! But what made our visit special were the two lovely ladies who served us.....friendly, fast service and a pleasure to deal with. We will definitely be back next visit.
