This trail is included in most tour itineraries for Taroko Gorge. It is easy to walk along the road and you need to wear a helmet. You can see the caves in the cliffs where the swallows nest. Didn't see any swallow though. Very beautiful scenery with the river below, steep cliffs and caves.

Great artisan work for cultural creative industries. The best I have seen so far in Taiwan. The place is also full of history. Remnants of industries can be found. Very spacious and full of place to sit, observe, converse.

Hualien is the jumping off point for one of Taiwan's most famous attractions, Taroko Gorge. At night, many visitors explore the Dongdamen night market. Apart from souvenirs, the night market has some enticing snacks, and also old-fashioned carnival games, It's easy to spend a couple of hours wandering around. And it's fun!

I really like this place, since it is really clean that you won't see any garbage on the floor even the trashcan never be full and dirty. Therefore, all the stores are neatly arranged and the roads are wide. However, the most impressive for me is the aboriginal street artists, whose voices make the night market atmosphere full of humanity and sentiment. I think that is the most different place with other night markets in Taiwan. By the way, I like the watermelon juice, papaya milk juice, giant strawberry tanghulu, and bubble milk tea in there. If you are interested in going to the Dong Da Men night market, you must try those.

Hualien Railway Station is a modern construction, it is neat and bright. The station is only a few years old. The railway trip from Taipei ends here. Although there is more to see in Hualien than Taroko Gorge, most people will head in that direction. There are numerous homestays in the city, which are comfortable and moderately priced. Hualien Station is walking distance to the centre of the city
