The distillery began in 2012 when owners Heather and Sean renovated an old bakery in a historical area of Haines called Fort William H. Seward. All spirits are thoughtfully made with high-quality ingredients including certified organic and non-GMO verified corn grown in Washington, featuring labels that represent the maritime culture and fishing town where we live and operate. "This is a neat old historical cannery that is still a working processor. The processing line is in a building with windows all along the wall so you can watch. If you are lucky there will be a boat unloading salmon or crab at the dock. It's a cool snapshot of an old industry that is still a major one in Alaska. It's not your typical tourist stop, but well worth the beautiful drive out from town." -- Chris from Ketchikan Built in 1917, Haines Packing Company is the oldest continuously operating business in Haines. Historically one of twelve salmon canneries in the Chilkat Valley, Haines Packing is the last remaining dock and warehouse. Watch fish being unloaded at the dock, see fillets processed through state-of-the-art equipment, and buy fresh fish and gifts at the boardwalk shops.

With our 7bbl brewhouse we have at least 12 brews on tap, available to customers by the glass in the tasting room or by the growler to go. When first established in 1999, we rented a small building at the local Fairgrounds where we operated for 16 years. And now, since September 2015 we are in our new building on Main Street, downtown Haines. Our retail space grew from a customer capacity for 12 people shoulder to shoulder - to room for 49 indoors and an outdoor beer garden with stunning views. Stop by to enjoy a fine crafted brew and a taste of life in Haines.
Our first stop in Haines on our way back from Canada and on the way to Juneau. Good tasty beer and friendly bartenders. We tried the Buster Board Lager, the Dalton Trail Ale, the IPA and the Spruce Tip. Great local brewery with a relaxed and friendly vibe. Highly recommend stopping through while you’re in town.
