Free tours of Exmouth lifeboat station are available every weekend throughout the year and most weekdays during school summer holidays although this depends on the availability of volunteer tour guides. Tours last 30 to 40 minutes and give you the chance to see the two lifeboats at close quarters, learn about the RNLI and see the kit that volunteer crews use when they're saving lives at sea. If you have a group, then special tours can be organised on weekdays either during the day or in the evening. And if you ask one of the tour guides, they'll tell you when you can see the all weather lifeboat launched on one of the crew's regular training exercises. These usually happen every two weeks on Wednesday evenings. If you've enjoyed the television programmes, this is your chance to see the real thing.
This was an Impromptu tour of the lifeboat station on a family day trip to Exmouth and how interesting it was. The guide Lawrie was friendly, very knowledgable and kept all 3 generations of the family engaged, including the teenagers! We saw both on and off shore lifeboats and got a great understanding of what they do and how it all works ~ an impressive, fact filled tour. A lovely hour or so out, would recommend. Well done RNLI and full respect to all the volunteers who give their time.

This park packs more in than most- golf, a new skateboard park, tennis courts, a pond, several avenues of mature trees,a dog enclosure, a cafe in the summer and alongside a cycle track which takes you along the coast or to the town plus exercise stations. It's well maintained ( well done the council!) and has a nice feel about it. Walkways are well maintained so if its an amble you want then that's good too. Only minus is the friendly cafe shuts out of season so it's a use it or lose it issue.

This moderate 5.4 mile circular walk goes from Exmouth Station out to Littleham Cross, then through countryside out to the South West Coast Path. Passing Orcombe Point and the Geoneedle the walk leads back along the cliff top and past historic buildings in The Beacon.
Lovey walk along the cliff top to Exmouth from Devon Cliffs along the coastal path. It is a bit steep at the start, and a bit muddy in places, but the views are stunning, and there is information along the path about the geology of the area which is very interesting.

An easy, gentle 2.3 mile stroll from Exmouth along the eastern bank of the Exe Estuary, whose mudflats, sandbanks and marshes are of international importance for their wildlife, especially the tens of thousands of resident and migratory waterbirds. Look out for avocets, curlews and lapwings, even seals and otters, and buzzards wheeling overhead. Take time to explore Lympstone before catching the train back to Exmouth.
A lovely level walk from Exmouth to Lympstone following the estuary. There is no traffic to worry about until you get to the outskirts of Lympstone although there are a lot of cyclists on the route. There are a couple of seats along the route and the Swan pub in Lympstone centre is great for lunch before the return journey along the river Exe by foot or on the train.
