Sunday 23/02/2020 around mid morning we visited Coombe Wood a picturesque little gem a stones throw from home. Coombe Wood cafe is a gem within a gem, really nice good value meal at reasonable prices. A perfect end to our visit.

Fancy taking the kids to feed the ducks? Here is a hidden gem for Croydon. This small local green space is dominated by a large duck pond with plenty of wildlife to entertain the little ones for and hour. Take you dog for short walk around the ponds perimeter path and have kick about on the small field. Set in a residential area iff busy main roads this small park would be great for a warm weather picnic. Dont forget your bird feed to enjoy this free entry park Enjoy.

A lovely place where you can find calmness in a noisy city. Sometimes you can listen to organ recitals on Wednesday, you may check the website of the Church. The organ is quite beautiful.

Great place - the beer selection always changes and the members of staff are extremely friendly. Always a pleasure to pop in for a pint or two.

Access is also available from Courtwood Rise - it's a bit of a climb, though. Lovely woods, varied throughout the year, birdsong everywhere, lots of paths to explore.

It is a great place for a dog walk with numerous paths and lovely woodland and hills. In some of the areas you can't hear the roads. There's plenty of parking and also a Chinese restaurant

I visited the museum because it has captain Sensibles' beret, as part of a popular culture/local hero's exhibition. The museum also houses some very beautiful examples of Chinese pottery. I was very surprised. I first went in 1998 and my most recent visit was pleasant. A nice cafe and excellent pub next door.

None of your happy, clappy, its good traditional worship and of your just coming for a viewing experience then make sure there is a guide available before you come. There really is a lot of history here, so, please dont steal the roof again!
