Chiriquí Province is a mountainous wonderland, located near the Barú Volcano. If you’re an adventure and nature lover, you’ll be right at home here, as the region offers everything from white-water rafting and kayaking to zip-line rainforest rides and hiking. More relaxed activities, such as coffee plantation tours and bird-watching, also are available here. To reach Chiriquí, you’ll likely pass through David, Panama’s third-largest city. If you choose to visit the Gulf of Chiriquí, you’ll find first-rate scuba diving, snorkeling, and other water sports that take full advantage of its marine location.

Our fine Panamanian chocolate is made on premises from the bean. Organic cacao grown by small farmers in the Bocas del Toro region is transformed into chocolate and presented to you in the form of exquisite truffles, bars and more. CHOX is first and foremost a chocolate shop, not a factory or tour facility; however, we would be happy to show you the chocolate making process upon advance request.
My brother and I were fortunate enough to do the chocolate class with Baris and Nina. What a fantastic learning and tasty experience! They were very patient with our clumsy attempts with the pouring of the chocolate into the molds. As Baris pointed out” chocolate making can be messy, but it’s all eatable “! I would do it again in a second!

The library opened its doors in February 2012 as the first lending library in Panama. The modern 3 story stone and glass building is a distinguished addition to the Boquete landscape. Free wi-fi and computers with internet are available, while the 3rd floor art gallery features monthly displays from local artists. Check the online calendar for concerts and activities. Open Mon-Sat 10am-7pm
Wow, am I thrilled that Boquete offers such a wonderful library for use by residents and tourists alike! They have a nice selection of fiction, written in English, that is separated for easy browsing. Other categories include books in English and Spanish mixed together. As a temporary resident, I applied for my library card right away. It was ready in just a few days, but I was allowed to check out books while waiting for the card. As a tourist I paid $20, but will be refunded that amount before leaving the area. Its a beautiful, clean, well organized library, with a photo gallery on the top floor. I'd recommend it to all! Super friendly, helpful librarians are there to answer your questions.

Arte Cruz is amazing and his shop has many hand made items highlighting Volcan and Panama. Also, Arte was able to show us how he created such wood works. Great place to stop and check out his works.

Most of the pictures show the old location of the market, which was dark and difficult to move around in, with very limited space. now this market is located just across the road from the old place, in a large well lit room with many more stalls and a much better range of goods. With all the social distancing and health rules this is now a much better place where they care about your well-being

Just six blocks from our house; very easy walk, although usually take taxi home because of the shopping. Great place to hang out relax and meet people.
