The church is set on the top of Long Melford Green just to the side of Kentwell Hall - also well worth a visit, along with Melford Hall (National Trust) just across the road. This church is stunning and with the lovely lady chapel at the end is the largest church in the country that isn't a Cathedral. The beautiful stain glass windows tell a story and include characters from Alice in Wonderland and Beatrix Potter. (Melford Hall is where Beatrix Potter used to stay with her animals and they house the original Jemima Puddleduck.) The church has guided tours and a shop. Ensure you visit this beautiful church on your walk around Long Melford - so many stay on the High Street and don't go any further than the bridge opposite the Bull Hotel. It is surrounded by beautiful countryside where you can walk for miles.

Had the utmost pleasure going into Rafi's and ordering some delicious spice mixes for a present for close friends. I was able to check about allergens with complete ease, and nothing was too much trouble. Absolutely fantastic service, great value, and will definitely be back again.

Arger Fen and Spouses Vale is a great place to walk at all times but as this time of year, when the bluebells are at their peak and the wild garlic is coming through has to be the best time. Very well looked after and wonderful to see how the bluebells are coming through in the areas where the brambles have been cut back. Thanks to all the volunteers. The wood is a good place for a stroll, but please keep to the paths, but an extended walk into Spouses Vale is although worth the effort.

I am fortunate to walk the meadows regularly and they are lovely - although in the winter they are likely to be living up to their name and will be flooded! The wild flowers are beautiful and the wildlife diverse - kingfishers, swans, cormarants...

Really love this cafe, have now visited twice, once for lunch and then another time for breakfast, I can honestly say it's one of the best breakfasts we have had out and we tried many places! Lunch also very good - food amazing, they must have a very good chef. Good for vegetarians and families with children.

Having friends locally we have visited Long Melford on many occasions. The town is mainly laid out along either side of the B1064 and has plenty of interesting shops, antique shops, restaurants and pubs. At one end is Melford Hall, run by the National Trust and nearby Long Melford Church, both of which are worth a visit. In the surrounding countryside there are lots of open spaces with lovely walks.

We were blown away at the view when we entered the main path to the church - you can see why this is a Grade 1 Listed Building that is regarded as one of the finest examples of Late Perpendicular Gothic architecture in England. The impressive tower is 141 feet tall and the interior has some outstanding fittings, including a painted rood screen dating from about 1330 and an octagonal font also from the 14th century. If you visit the wonderful village of Lavenham then make sure that you do not miss this outstanding church.
