A market with live fowl, meats, great cheeses, vegetables and flowers. Packed with people inspecting and buying all under a superb medieval roof - the Saturday market is absolutely great and appreciated by locals and visitors. Plenty of bars too with tables outside inviting for a rest and an apero.

This restored medieval village is well worth a visit if you're into history and architecture. The streets and lanes are all paved with cobblestones and most of the houses are built with stone. It's impossible to get lost as the main street is circular. It's based around a town square with a 200yo linden tree. And some nice restaurants. Take the time to visit the museum - only 5 euro - not least so you have the chance to climb the tower which gives great views over the village roofs and the surrounding countryside. It's one of those places where it's impossible to take a bad photo.

Touched a statue of St John Vianney -Something called me to visit this place , literally dropped my life ,parked car at airport and got plane to France -Lyon.All way was guided by helpful people. I walked from villfranche sur saone to the shrine -the 4.1km distance along the main road to Ars sue Forman, Tryed it night before but was dark so turned back and stayed night in Ballindins Hotel - 100% I learned the meaning of the Hail Mary on the walk. I kissed the sign post when reached ars village .Visited the stautue other side of village and kissed the signpost. The peace allows for confessions and delievernce prayers for your soul. I know the meaning now in words who GOD the father is , jesus his mediator , who was burried as a King and arose from dead ,new Adam to get this earth world restarted. We must believe love and serve our neighbour to gain eternal life we are eternal beings that live forever. God is here - forget about the world of earth where we all live and die by the sword of spirtual sin. Ars sur forman - St john Vianney was a walk into the unknown for me , the world has no meaning for me now - am healed of the world and damage it does to your soul for eternity People met in Church - very likely Saints or angels, the power of the mass unreal at this Church, Fantastic place St John Vainney Incorrupt body so simplistic , so cleaning ,so healing .I humbly apologise words fail me to describe the place. I had a vocation to be a priest but ignored it. inverted chalice

Only a few minutes away from geneva, the Pays de Voltaire (Ferney-Voltaire and Preevssin-Moens) has a unique location.
Echo the comments of previous visitors. Friendly staff who went out of the way to assist with queries, English spoken. Dropped round to buy the Cart@bonus for TPG bus F to Geneva, and were kindly given instructions on how to use the card. Easy to find, in the centre of town on Grand Rue.
