A peaceful, popular beach.
Barra Vieja beach is south of the airport. About 40 min. from the main avenue in Acapulco along the beach (Costera). Warm water. Nice sand. Worth a visit.

Neighborhood overlooking the "C" shaped bay in original Acapulco.
We stayed at the Princess Imperial Hotel. Its a quiet & safe area. There is a golf course and pro tennis stadium in the neighbouring properties. Great sunsets, and views from the towers of the Princess Mundo Imerial Hotel.

Created in 1956 and located on the side of a house, this mural is one of the city's most important cultural artifacts.
We have visited the Murals Diego Rivera several times as part of the Acapulco City Tour. They are amazing and also are great photo opportunities. Portions look a bit worn, but I assume they have been well preserved over the years.

A friend and I spent the day at Tres Marias Restaurant on the ocean side and had a very relaxing time. We sat under a palapa and had a wonderful chat about nothing in particular. The Pina Coladas were fresh and cold. We had fish grilled al la talla and it was very tasty. This was the first time I'd tried it. We had hoped to see some whales out in the ocean, but just birds. We do this at least once every trip. My friend winters in Acapulco, but I manage to come every other year for a coupla weeks.
