My husband and 2 sons (ages 11 and 13) loved our virtual tour of Tokyo. Nino was a fantastic guide and filled the hour with historical, cultural and fun facts! She was able to keep all of us at all ages engaged. It was a welcome diversion for this time of no-travel and very few experiences in the world because of the pandemic. We all can't wait to book our trip when the time allows!

While we were sad to have to cancel our July trip to Japan due to the pandemic, we found the process of working with Japan Awaits to be easy and efficient. I can't speak to the full experience since we weren't able to go, but filling out the form and our communication with the company was no problem. And their prompt and courteous response to our request for a refund speaks to their professionalism. We will definitely come back to ask for their help in procuring tickets to the Studio Ghibli Museum when we do finally make it to Japan! Fingers crossed for next summer.

Yoshi was a great tour guide. He tells a lot of stories and takes you to your desired places and then some. We went to the National Gardens, stopped to say hi to Hachiko, and went to the Chiku Chiku Cafe. The Hedgehogs were so cute! They're usually nocturnal and the one I was visiting, Butter, was really tired and wanted to sleep so I only took a couple pictures and let him rest the rest of the time :) Take care Yoshi! Hope you have more fun adventures

Had a great time with our lovely tour guide. We started off in a building that sells collectibles, which we wouldn't have known about if it wasn't for our guide. After that, we headed off to a maid café where we got ourselves some lovely dessert in the shape of bears and bunnies. The chocolate latté was amazing! Really friendly maids despite not being able to speak English. Took some pictures with the maids and then continued to a nearby gaming hall where we dressed up for some purikura shots. We got good information about the Akihabara area and Japanese culture in general. Interesting to speak to a Japanese person about life in Japan. Overall a really great tour which I would recommend!
In 2018, the Japanese government moved its main fish market from Tsukiji to Toyosu. Since then, all seafood in Tokyo is beeing traded at Toyosu Fish Market. But still, the Tsukiji "outer" market remains in the same place with so many shops and restaraunts still active. On this tour, we'll explore these two biggest fish markets in half-a-day. Toyosu fish maket is mainly the place for fisherman and wholesellers to trade seafood. It is interesting to see how they trade and work at the market. Toyosu is not the perfect place for people who would like to sample fresh seafood and snacks. That is the reason why we are also visiting Tsukiji fish market.
Inclusions: Tuna auction at Toyosu Fish Market, Some food samplings at Toyosu and Tsukiji Market, Transfortation during the tour, Full breakfast (Seafood) at Tsukiji Market
Exclusions: Additional foods and drinks (Available for purchase)
Fantastic virtual tour! The guide, YH, was a delight, full of knowledge, laughter and fun anecdotes. We were complete Sake beginners and learned so much. The material is well prepared and very personal with many opportunities for questions. I cannot wait to visit in person!
An early morning private tour of Toyosu Market and Tsukiji Outer Market guided by an experienced tour guide licensed by the government. In this tour, you will meet at the Yurikamome Line Market Station, observe the tuna auctions at Toyosu Market, etc., move to Tsukiji using public transport, and stroll around the outside market. Enjoy the two old and new fish markets from early morning. As an option, you can also meet up at the hotel. We recommend using a taxi from the hotel. Public transportation is available if the hotel is near Toyosu. Let's enjoy the morning fish market together!
Inclusions: Guide fee
Exclusions: Transportation expenses (for participants and guides)
I am very happy I went on this tour. I saw a lot in 8 hours and did not have to worry about how to get from one place to the other which was great! Nobu, my guide, was very nice, knowledgeable and his English was excellent. You can customise your tour, I did not as it was my first time in the city and I enjoyed all the places we went to. I highly recommend this tour.
Eat and shop like a Japanese local and immerse yourself in this food-themed trip inside both of Tokyo’s two famous fish markets, Toyosu and Tsukiji. Quite possibly the best places to get a sense of Japanese culinary culture! Meet up with your guide at your hotel or Toyosu Market where you will experience the energy and excitement of the early morning tuna auction. With all this walking, you learn about the market’s history and why many of Japan’s top chefs visit daily to pick up the freshest-quality ingredients. Luckily, you’ll be able to sample a tasty assortment of Japanese foodstuffs like sushi, Japanese omelettes, tea, sake, fried fish cakes, and fresh oysters to help fuel your exploration. After the tour, you can stay in the market to enjoy the rest of your breakfast or lunch at your leisure. Note*1: The Nationally-licensed Tour Guide-Interpreter certification is issued by the Japanese government requires a good knowledge and understanding of Japanese culture and history.
Inclusions: Free Photos, Licensed Local Guide, Sample range of Japanese food as you go: Japanese omelette, fried fish cake, fresh tuna, Dashi, Hotel Pick up and Drop off
Exclusions: Transportation fee (for yourself and your guide), Private Vehicle, Other personal expenses
The flexibility to chose locations that suited our wants and abilities was great. Hiro San was very quick to put together an itinerary that accommodated a family with a stroller-baby (no monkey park due to long unpacked walking paths). Taking in the beautiful temples and view of the Kyoto from the west was breath taking and the guide was able to explain many things we as new Japanese learners could not read or know through cultural knowledge. Overall a great experience, a wonderful and lively guide, and some great memories.
You can visit two fish markets the new one, in the clean and high-tech facility and the old one where you can enjoy street food. If you are big fans of sushi, the guide can give you some recommendations.
Inclusions: Gratuities
Exclusions: Private transportation, Snacks, Lunch
