We first visited Champagne Doyard Mahe in 2012. Since it was our first visit back to the area, we decided to visit again. We had a great tasting session with 6 champagnes. Carole looked after us very well. Several cases now on order for delivery to the UK....

Champagne André JACQUART is a family Domain situated in the heart of the Côte des Blancs. Our Cuvées are highly representative of the terroirs of Vertus and Le-Mesnil-Sur-Oger. Vinification in oak barrels, long ageing period, low dosage and the lack of malolactic fermentation are the hallmarks of the House.

Women pioneered the COLIN Champagne vineyard, which is now run by Richard and Romain Colin. The passion for vines and wine began with their grandmothers Geneviève Prieur and Marie Louise Radet who both inherited vines from their parents. But the family's first winegrower dates back to 1829 with Constant Piéton, the great grandfather of Geneviève Prieur, Richard's and Romain's maternal grandmother.

We have been buying this Champagne at La Fine Bulle in Epernay for years but we decided to try to find the location of the domaine for a proper visit. So glad we did. I was brave and called ahead to arrange a visit that afternoon. My averagely good French was sufficient- Patrick's daughter who now runs the show, speaks a bit of English - but "Je voudrais vous rendre visite cet apres-midi" should do the trick. We tasted four different types of champagne and bought some of each. The Perle De Venus is a sublime champagne for "grown ups" (les grandes personnes) and the grand cru is excellent, but for us 'la étiquette bleue' (blue label) premier cru is the star of the show.
