The Montana Winery offers a taste of the Last Best Place – Montana, with a hint of French Style! The grapes are sourced out of the Colombia Valley, Washington, but take on the Montana attitude as we work our magic at Montana Winery. It starts with the careful choices of our French Vintner and the simple beauty and warmth of our Montana home. The Montana Winery is located in Missoula, a place where 5 valleys and 3 rivers intersect, forming a stunning backdrop full of recreational activities and of course the diverse cultural influences provided by the University of Montana.

Beer takes a backseat to style here, and definitely not in a bad way. With a name like it possesses, you have here a brewery who makes many nods to the intellect, to artistry and to great thinkers, based upon their artwork. I suppose with breweries becoming a virtual norm in the country and particularly in the west, and especially in college towns, you’ve got to find your niche. Imagine Nation does exactly that. Bravo! Their beers were, on average, delicious. And they’ve an advantage that is exploited considerably: the river. I’m guessing few places are better in Missoula for passing a summer day and evening. If I lived in Missoula this would be one of my go-to’s. There you have it.

Located in the Rattlesnake Valley, a mile south of the Rattlesnake Wilderness and Recreation Area, the 7.5 acre vineyard and winery are nestled on 21.5 acres with beautiful mountain views. Grizzlies can get here, and might have already visited. Long summer days give the French-American hybrid grapes the sunlight they need to ripen for the fall harvest. Big Sky Beekeepers' bees pollinate the St. Pepin grapes and produce light, sweet honey right here.

The Zoo is all about their human powered wheels and local microbreweries. Why not combine the best of both? Thirst Gear is a 15 passenger bike-like contraption originally designed in the Netherlands (though ours was custom built in Bend, Oregon). The goal is to gather some friends and maybe a few friendly strangers, and hop on board for a music filled tour of the sud sippin' streets of Missoula!

A craft distillery using traditional methods and Montana ingredients to create fine spirits & cocktails.
Beautiful ambiance with history, and elegant spirits and cocktails. I’m not normally a gin fan — I liken the taste to drinking cologne — but I thoroughly enjoyed their Whyte Laydie and bought a bottle to bring home. It may be the only gin I ever buy! Good thing they offer free tastes, or I would have never known...

We found ourselves in Missoula and had to stop at Big Sky. Up until this visit we had only had Moose Drool. They have a great tap room, offering 8 oz glasses for 1/2 the price of a pint, which gave us the opportunity to try twice as many brews. Wait staff were friendly and knowledgeable. We sampled a number of beers and walked out with a very reasonably priced growler of The Drool and smiles on our faces.

We brew hop-centric or West Coast style beers that are well balanced and flavorful. Our taproom has a comfortable pub-like atmosphere with a relaxing environment. We offer an amazing variety of craft beers with 10 tap handles and six of these handles dedicated to rotating specialty or seasonal beers. Come join us for a craft beer.
Stopped in while passing through town. Short walk from our motel. Service great. Beers great: Nitro porter and others. Really nice Thai food truck on premises, had basil and Green curry. Delicious!
