Hi there! I'm your guide, Willow. I've spent thousands of hours collecting and identifying mushrooms all over the United States. I grew up on Mount Desert Island, Maine, and graduated from College of the Atlantic in 2017. I have a close relationship with the flora and funga of Maine, and am eager to share what I know on my guided foraging sessions!

Wanted some bbq so we googled Mainely meat and Atlantic Brewing Company came up so we dropped in for lunch. Susan was our waitress and was friendly and pleasant. We chose the pulled pork sandwich with potato salad . Great choice! Came on thick toasted bread, I got the hot sauce which complemented the juicy tender pork well. Going back to try the ribs soon. The smokers were nearby and wonderful smells were in the air.

Wonderful little stop! We kind of wondered what we were getting into when we pulled up to the little wooded path to the winery, but this only added to the experience. We had an absolute ball sampling their very unique and tasty wines made from Maine agricultural products (peaches, raspberries, wild blueberries), and even more fun discussing anything and everything with Kathie, the owner! While we don’t know a lot about wine, we loved the tasting and look forward to returning on our next vacation.

Catherine Hill Winery is a great find in DownEast, Maine! You can sit inside (very warm and inviting) or outside on the lawn (beautiful garden and peaceful). The wine was excellent (especially liked Bold Coast Red) and the owner is great! Deb is very personable and friendly. She makes you feel welcomed and wants to make sure you have a good experience.

I am not sure if its because I didn't expect much...it doesn't look like much from the road. But, I thoroughly enjoyed the wine tasting. We sat outside at a bistro table on a great weather day. I usually don't like sweet wines so, I wanted to avoid those. However, I did go with the Blueberry wine as my last choice out of 6. I had to - its their number one seller. I loved it and wished I had tried all of their specialty wines. Unfortunately, they were about to close and could not do another tasting round. For $6.00 and 6 pours outside, its a nice excursion. Sweet Pea's Cafe is right next door so, there is a place to eat onsite that offers outdoor tables. It created a nice adult atmosphere. We hung out here again the following day.
