The village hall is in the centre of Capel-le-Ferne village, which is set on the cliff-top of the White Cliffs of Dover, on the B2011 halfway between Folkestone and Dover. We have a great community spirit and the hall is in constant use. Many events are held in the hall, including a weekly farmers market, boot fairs, craft fairs, garden shows, pantomime, quiz nights etc. Plus the regular clubs of Judo, short mat bowls, playgroup, guides & brownies, youth club, remote control car club, W.I., active retirement groups, Zumba, Pilates, Badminton etc. The hall is also available for hire for weddings, parties, conferences etc.We have a large main hall with stage, and a smaller hall.We have a lovely kitchen, disabled toilet facilities, and a large car park.Behind the hall is a football field, playground, skateboard park and adult gym, with a zip wire and an area for playing boulle in the near future. Also in our village is the BATTLE OF BRITAIN MEMORIAL, which is well worth the visit, which is also in the process of expanding to provide a 'Wing' with modern technology showing the History and Story of the Battle of Britain, along with a Cafeteria over-looking the channel.CAPEL-LE-FERNE FARMERS MARKETEstablished since 2003 by volunteers on the Village Hall Management Committee (which is a registered charity). Yes it is badly signposted, but well worth visiting if you like character, old boats etc.Free parking, good stroll along the river and proper friendly boatyard you can walk through(by footpath)with not too many white plastic boats yet! Antique centre upstairs (some shops closed my rather wet visit),good display re restoration of sailing barge Cambria, cafe not quite what it used to be but perhaps will learn what's wanted.I so like character and so hope the Standard Quay area will not be over cleansed and clone like!

Took a little trip to whitstable last weekend, had a look round the castle but not much too see, then went for a walk round the harbour market huts, what a nice mixture of food and retail - roly smokes is a must for a massive burger, great choice of olives from the olive seller, pretty sweet hut selling the best fudge i’ve ever tasted plus old fashioned sweets and a good selection of art, jewellery, gifts and even a kite seller! No extortionate prices which you might of expected, definitely worth a wander through, highly recommend!!!

The inside of the redone market resembles that of a small mall, theres cafe's and shops, all of them are unique, I'd recommend black cat jewellery , the pet accessory store and Marie's stalls (Cake decorating and ordering, and the tea shop) Very impressed with the layout, looks totally different from when I last was here
