We did a lot of research before booking a water taxi, as we had heard the horror stories of people being dumped in the middle of Venice, and I have to say our experience with Motoscafi was fantastic! Booked online and received confirmation straight away with clear instructions on where to find the airport booth. Upon arrival, we were given our reference number and it was only a few minutes walk from the airport out to the pier (it is clearly signposted so not worth paying the extra money to be guided there!) where we were greeted by our driver and shown onboard. The drive into Venice was fantastic, a really special experience for us and felt extra special with the driver taking us round the island of Murano on the way in, so we were on the water for a good 55 minutes. We were also reassured to see that we only paid the flat rate as specified on the Venice tourism site. Overall we were really happy with the experience and pleased we went for a private watertaxi as a special treat!

Alilaguna is a public transportation company in Venice, Italy, that focuses on providing efficient boat transportation throughout the City. Our 4 lines connect Marco Polo airport and the Cruise Terminal to Venice city centre, Lido and Murano. We put at disposal of our passengers several ticketing offices located at Marco Polo airport (arrival hall and airport dockyard), Cruise Terminal, Tronchetto (car park), San Marco square and Rialto (San Luca square).
Undertook a great deal of research before leaving the UK to book our boat airport transfers from Marco Polo airport to Saint Angelo docking station on the Grand Canal. Saved a few euros by prebooking on line at only 50 euros return for 2 people with a suitcase. So easy to use and clearly signposted at the airport - very comfortable trip however those with poor mobility may struggle as you need to climb down some steep steps into the boat. Only criticism is that the boat windows are high up meaning you can’t see out at the lovely view. Took about an hour because you stop off at every station in the same way a public bus would. Fabulous way to leave and return to the airport!
