Situated at the feet of the western Pyrenees near the French border, Spain's Basque country comprises three provinces: Guipúzcoa and the popular beachfront capital of San Sebastian; Viscaya, where capital Bilbao houses the jaw-dropping Gehry-designed Guggenheim Museum; and Alava, whose capital Vitoria teems with medieval architecture. Running with the bulls at Pamplona and drinking rioja from area wineries add to the region's exotic romanticism. Travel in early summer and fall to dodge the madding crowds.

In the heart of Basque country, where silence reigns.large meeting room. Living room with chimney. Garden, private garage, free wifi. Nice customer service. Modern and warm style.Nice and confortable outward beedrooms. The hotel offers the confort in a renovated historic building.
We found this place on Booking.com - what it didnt say on Booking.com is that there is no reception ..... which means its not open - nobody is there ..... just a phonenumber outside - please make that clear on the internet because its a bit uncomfortable if you dont know what to do .... Parking is down - the hotel is up. The rooms are all individuell styled - was great and comfortable - bathroom quite small TVs are too small to be honest - Wifi worked good. Be aware as well you are next to an old church but the churchbell is doing her job every half hour till midnight .... Breakfast was great (4,50 Euros extra) - very fresh and good products.

Farm house with 6 double rooms with privated bathroom-shower and possibility to rent all house. Situated just 4kmts from San Sebastian, with privated parking, and with bus service just on the door. We offers a breakfast service (optional) of sweet or savoury meals.
We rented the two bedroom flat which is upstairs and has it's own entrance. It is possible to rent it as a one bedroom flat by closing a corridor door and sharing the entrance. The appartment is spacious, bright and very clean. The decor is modern and tasteful. The bedrooms have comfortable beds and each bedroom has it's own ensuite with an excellent shower. In November the weather was very wet and windy but the electric heaters are very efficient and we were comfortable. The dining and lounge area are on the smaller side but this would not really be an issue when the weather is good and you can enjoy the large terrace outside. The kitchen is well equipped although there is no kettle, pyrex dishes or tea towels.. this is maybe a British thing!! Oil, salt some teabags, sugar and nespresso capsules are provided when you arrive. The appartment is about a 10 minute drive from the centre of town so you do ideally need a car although there is a bus or a taxi costs 12 euros I believe. It is lovely however to leave the bustle of the town behind and enjoy the fantastic countryside view and the sheep. Gari is an excellent host who speaks English and was on hand to provide information, directions etc after booking and throughout the stay. San Sebastian is an expensive area to stay even in winter so at 675€ for 4 nights in November this was good value for the facilities compared to local hotels. I would highly recommend a stay here

I booked this place because I did not want to be in busy San Sebastian during a trip from Bilbao to La Rioja. It is quite tricky to find, especially when it is dark. From the looks of it, I expected an agritourism site, but it seems to be a working cider farm with available guest rooms in the house. Our room was small but clean, and reasonably quiet. On arrival, our host explained how the kitchen works. For 3 Euro we were given command of the kitchen to make our own breakfast. Coffee, milk, fruit juices, yogurt, bread, cold cut and more were available to make a substantial breakfast. The kitchen is shared with other guests, so there could be some wait. The hotel provides a generous lounge with tables, games, and literature. For us it was just a night's stay, which was good and without issues.

Rural tourism Valdelana is a located in Elciego, birthplace of Rioja Alavesa wines. Sit on the foundations of underground cellars from the 15th and 16th centuries, the accommodation is in the same building as our Winery Museum and our Wine Shop. This historical construction is the perfect place to stay in and step into Wine Culture. Besides, our rural accommodation is situated between Logroño (23 km) and Vitoria (50 km) in one of the most strategic points to visit our region. The opening of our rural accommodation took place in 2012. It has a total of 12 fully-equipped rooms in two different categories: standard and premium. Every room is provided with an ensuite bathroom, heating and air conditioning, a flat-screen TV and free Wifi. The price also includes breakfast, which is served in our glassed-in porch, and a guided tour through our Winery Museum, made up of the Ethnographic Museum, the Wine Museum and the Tunnel of Senses. At the end of the tour, we also taste olive oil and four wines produced by Valdelana Family.
For the relatively low price, this hotel was ok. The positives were: - lovely staff who could speak excellent English - the free tour and tasting was good - location is good and easy 5 minute walk to Marques de Riscal - we had a superior room with balcony and could use the communal kitchen to cook dinner in one evening The negatives: - very small bathroom with one of the worst showers I have ever used (small, inconsistent water temperature) - uncomfortable bed as the middle was sunk (difficult for two people to sleep on) - very basic breakfast - coffee, bottle of juice (not fresh), a croissant and piece of toast

I was in this hotel for one night in March and there are several downsides with this place. I do understand that this may be a great place for bigger groups since it has a beautiful community area to hang out, but if you are travelling alone, avoid it. The room is was in was plain ugly and the place itself is located between a highway and an industrial area on the other side of the river. The owner doesn't speak a word of English, so practice your Spanish before you arrive. Be prepared to self-cater yourself as there won't be any chance for you to get a drink or some food. At least the place offers safe parking, but besides that ... well ...

This rural hotel is a few kms up in the hills behind Deba town in a rustic but well maintained building. The main business seemed to be meals but there are several rooms to let as well. My room was on the small side but very smart with pumpkin colour walls, tiled floor and patterned bedspread reflecting the wall colour. The bed was big and comfortable. The bathroom was small and shower so tiny that I kept bumping the control alternately freezing and boiling myself. Not really too much of a complaint when there is ample hot water. The building has a large guest lounge that was closed, probably due to covid. The wifi did not work at all in the room but was strong and stable in the restaurant where I had dinner. There was a reasonable selection of good, plain food that seemed to be a draw for non-guest diners. Being rural the hotel was very quiet during the night. For those with lots of energy there is a short cut, steep, walking track down to Deba that cuts out quite a bit from the road journey. Overall, this was a very pleasant place to spend a night while walking the Camino de Santiago and the short cut track was a useful trick to get back on the Camino in Deba.

I only stayed for one night but it was absolutely beautiful. The next restaurant is a bit further away (by foot) but it's exactly that what made it so beautiful. It's surrounded by fields and forest so it's very quiet and refreshing. The people working there are fantastic (thank you again ;) ). Room was very clean, good decoration and it has a cosy outdoor area. I would totally visit again and stay a few days more.

Beautiful house, simple and gracefully appointed. Very comfortable beds. The hosts are at the image of their house. The older lady doesn’t speak english, but she is so lovely and welcoming that you cannot hold it against her. And we always managed to understand each other in the end anyway. Breakfast was excellent, with fresh natural juices and fruits and minute made omelette.

Farmhouse establishment in the countryside, managed by a basque family who, actually, lives in the "caserio". 6 rooms all furnished with traditional decoration. The house is prepared to house 19 people, including extra beds. You want a family reunion, with aunts, uncles, cousins, grandparents…? You want to get the gang together, with friends, partners and children? Or are you looking for a place for company meetings or any other kind of professional event? At Azkue, this is possible. There is room for everyone! On the other hand, we just inaugurated a new apartment that forms part of the farm, allowing couples or families with children who want to spend a few days in the middle of nature to enjoy the comfort of a private space.

We really enjoyed our stay here - quiet, clean room with a view over the lake, and a small terrace. The owners are very helpful and friendly. The location is about a 20min drive to Vitoria, there is really nothing around, so to get to shops or restaurants you will need to drive out.
