The Hawaiian island of Oahu is a surfer’s paradise, with swelling waves that can reach epic heights. No wonder, then, that it’s the site of one of the world’s premier competitions, the Triple Crown of Surfing. If hanging ten isn’t your thing, you can still enjoy the beautiful beaches – particularly famous Waikiki Beach in Honolulu. Art connoisseurs will appreciate the annual Hale'iwa Arts Festival, a celebration of local crafts, painting, jewelry, sculpture, dance, and music.

A must-see destination, the Farmer’s Market at the KCC always satisfies my Hawaiian food cravings - full of tropical fruits such as papaya, pineapple, sugar cane, passion fruit, avocado, longan, bananas, we immediately bought an açai bowl full of fruit, granola and frozen açai, an excellent way to detox the body. Hawaiian coffee rounded out my morning meal. We bought some wonderful baked goods from the La Tour Bakehouse - they carry an extensive selection of breads, granolas, lavosh, crackers, pastries not available in their restaurant. So many foods, so many things to try, it is such a pleasant way to spend the morning. There are lots of tour buses so be prepared for a very busy visit.

With the KCC farmers market being way too overcrowded and overrun with busses, this Saturday market near Ward Village is a great find. Descent parking available. Close bus stop. Busy, but not congested. Wonderful offerings of fresh produce, bakery, Island products, etc. Lots of locals which is always a good sign.

We were staying over at Waianae side and came here. Had delicious garlic furukake wings from the red food truck....I forget the name. Also had taro malasadas from another vendor. Met some locals at the shaded eating area and shared our food. There’s maybe around 4 or 5 vendors selling veggies, the others are prepared foods and crafts. If you are nearby it’s worth a stop. There are no signs, so look for the Longs and A&G restaurant. It’s to the right of A &G

The farmers market is on Tuesdays and Thursdays. Great opportunity to get to taste fresh food. The fruits here are amazing. We also got dinner here, the pulled pork was great. But our favorite was the malisadas!!! So many varieties, we ended up getting two bags, because the first one disappeared before we even left the market! Lots of fun
