The crown jewels, Buckingham Palace, Camden Market…in London, history collides with art, fashion, food, and good British ale. A perfect day is different for everyone: culture aficionados shouldn't miss the Tate Modern and the Royal Opera House. If you love fashion, Oxford Street has shopping galore. For foodies, cream tea at Harrod’s or crispy fish from a proper chippy offers classic London flavor. Music and book buffs will love seeing Abbey Road and the Sherlock Holmes Museum (at 221B Baker Street, of course).

On December 31, 2019, I left my hotel around 7:45 pm to walk to the blue area for entry into the River Thames location for the fireworks display by the London Eye. Fortunately, due my early arrival, I was able to identify a good location opposite the London Eye. For the more than three hours that I stood waiting for midnight, the DJ played plenty of good music for the growing crowds. I found the experience to be exciting as it was always my desire to be in London to see the fireworks display by the London Eye. During the waiting period, I had discussions with total strangers from within the UK and around the world. Around 11:00 pm the DJ informed the crowds that the London Eye was 20 years old, and the wheel changed colours during the announcement. Throughout the night the wheel was illuminated in different coloured lights. Many a picture was taken by the crowds each time there was a change. Earlier in the evening, the DJ also asked the crowds to turn on their cell phone lights and spot them skywards. One can only imagine how the display looked like from the sky. As we approached midnight, the crowds began the countdown, which was also illuminated on a building next to the wheel. When we reached 2020, there was a brilliant display of fireworks. This was the most spectacular fireworks display I had the privilege to experience in my lifetime. At that moment, I knew that a wise decision had been made to travel from the Caribbean to be part of these festivities. The only disappointment I had was that due to the volume of the fireworks, the environment became smoky and this hindered the beauty of the display somewhat. Despite this, I took plenty of pictures to remember the moment for years to come. Overall, despite the cold conditions and standing for over three hours, I had an enjoyable time by the River Thames. I would highly recommend to anyone that they should experience New Year's Eve by the London Eye. It was truly amazing.

I had been several times at Wimbledon museum, but I was never able to get a ticket for the tournament, but on 11th July I got it, for £20, and I lived the most wonderful experience of being able to see several tennis matches, eat the famous strawberries and be a witness of Wimbledon´s magic.I took the tube as usual to go there , reached the gates and suddenly I saw the board with the prices for the day, I asked somebody and she told me that it was possible to get a ticket, I couldn´t believe my eyes whern at the ticket office I bought it, A dream came true.

This festive attraction set in Hyde Park in central London is great fun for all the family. It's essentially a large funfair offering an array of attractions, activities and entertainment for visitors of all ages (my husband and I visited both pre- and post- children and enjoyed ourselves equally on both occasions). On our most recent visit we particularly enjoyed the Magical Ice Kingdom with its fabulous ice sculptures themed around Charles Dickens' A Christmas Carol - which iconic story itself opens on a cold Christmas Eve in London. Another favourite activity of mine was skating on the ice rink - which looks wonderfully Victorian and is perfect for the park setting. And of course the children had great fun on the various fairgound rides. I really enjoyed the festive atmosphere at Winter Wonderland and would definitely visit again!
