With the pandemic, I finally have the time to do my reviews from our trip before the holidays! We were in communication with Tony beginning in Sept/Oct for a private tour for 2 couples when our cruise visited in November. He was absolutely FANTASTIC with email communications and created a private tour with our list of places we wanted to visit, and eventually executed that tour adding on a wonderful bar on the beach at the conclusion of the tour before taking us back to our ship. He met us at the port and took us in his vehicle to a few estates for educational tours and to purchase spices and chocolate. He was a very knowledgeable and such a great guide! He was SO PERSONABLE throughout the day...from start to finish.

You won’t understand Barbados from your resort. Get out with Scott (born & bred Bajan) in his air conditioned minibus and bluetoothed headset to learn about flora, fauna, history, society, religion, culture, geography, food (lunch included), climate, drink (a free rum punch, proper stuff) and anything else that you want know. If you want to see sea-eroded caves, windmills for crushing sugar cane, appreciate race tracks (horses and cars), understand how many variety of snakes live in the island, why houses are built the way they are, how to plant banana trees, how letters get delivered where there are no addresses, why breadfruit might be the cash crop of the future, despite Non-Disclosure Agreements who’s doing what to who, Scott’s yer man. Not interested in who Abramovich visits, where Princess Margaret’s house was, why people dumped their rubbish on top of Quakers’ family vaults, where they banged up Jerry Hall in the cells, why the largest Jewish cemetery in the Caribbean is in Bridgetown, how many polo fields there are on Barbados, why Simon Cowell’s and Andrew Lloyd Weber’s houses went down the pan, why you need to know much sugar has been added to the rum you are buying, why the Bajan Prime Minister and the Greek Royal Family are buried in different directions in the same churchyard, get someone to check your temperature again cos you’re probably no longer with us. For USD87, buy yourself an education about the Island or just sit back and enjoy the different geography of the Island’s parishes.

I had the pleasure of doing a full-day custom tour with Josh and it was incredible. We were only spending 3 days in Grenada so we packed in as much as we could on the tour. This island is gorgeous with mountains, waterfalls, black sand beaches and we wanted to see it all. Josh was ready and waiting for us in the lobby of Mount Cinnamon the day of the tour. We did the following; - Grand Etan Rainforest/National ParkM One way up we stopped to see a rainbow eucalyptus tree, pick nutmeg and taste fresh cacao fruit! - River Antoine Estate Rum Factory. Very strong rum. - Belmont Estate for lunch and chocolate tasting. The buffet lunch was delicious as was the chocolate tasting. Picked up some chocolate soap too. - Black sand beach (black is beautiful!) - Mount Carmel Falls (gorgeous natural beauty. there's a small area (hut) to change, a natural wideslide that's kid-friendly and a swimming area. The swim was refreshing). - Spice market. LOL. fun. Picked up some cinnamon leaf and other spices. Honestly, it was an incredible tour. Josh is funny and charming. He felt like family by the end of the tour. Bonus: we were leaving on a Thursday, missing the cookouts on Friday. Josh arrange for us to get an Oil Down takeaway on the way to the airport from local favourite Patrick's. So yummy. I will definitely be back to the beautiful island of Grenada and cannot recommend Josh more!

Based on the Trip Advisor reviews, I contacted Around Curacao to set up a private tour for our party of 8 adults for the day our cruise was in port. Andy and his staff were so wonderful with all the details of our booking and the communication with me before our cruise. I had detailed instructions as to where we would meet our guide, Lypson. He was waiting for us when we arrived and that begin an amazing 6-hour tour of the beautiful island of Curacao. We swam with sea turtles, saw beautiful beaches, discovered the rich history of the island and enjoyed visiting with Lypson...who also sang for us! It was a great tour and something we would have never been able to get on a ship excursion. I highly recommend Around Curacao. Enjoy your tour and thank you, Lypson, for a great day! Your friends from Texas!

This remarkable full-day tour, showing you the very best of Grenada in a day. See St. George's, the prettiest capital town in the Caribbean. Travel up the western coast and visit the picturesque Concord Waterfalls nestled in the lush mountains where you can be refreshed by swimming in the cool water. Visit the fishing town of Gouyave and the spice processing station, where you will see why our island is called the "Isle of Spice" then continue to the Diamond chocolate factory to taste and learn how chocolate is made. Have lunch at an authentic Grenadian restaurant, before heading to the Caribbean's oldest functional water-powered distillery before tasting its potent rum. The tour would not be complete without a visit to Grenada's interior and largest national park, to see the Grand Etang Lake and rainforest.

Inclusions: Hotel/port pickup and drop-off, Professional local guide, Transport by air-conditioned van, Lunch

My husband and I had an amazing time on our full-day tour with Michael yesterday. Michael knows so much about the island, and his love for the country shines. He was so personable and had a fun sense of humor; it was such a treat to drive around the island with him! Tour highlights included Concord Waterfall; tasting Grenada’s national dish, oil down, which isn’t something we expected to enjoy so much but it really blew us away (SO good!!); we also loved the rum and chocolate factories; and being very fortunate to encounter monkeys at Grand Etang National Park! (The monkeys don’t always come out, so this was a blessing!) We are very grateful for Michael’s knowledge and fun personality for making our tour one of our favorite days on our Grenada vacation. Tip: Bring money to buy chocolate and also shop from the vendors by Concord Waterfall. The people by the waterfall aren’t pushy but sort of guilt you by saying stuff like “This is how I make a living. We’d really appreciate your support.” Their stuff is inexpensive and they do have novelty items like chocolate tea and nutmeg jelly; my advice would be to buy something if you’re able.
