Jack Daniel's distillery, established in 1866.
The distillery tour was a wonderful experience. Our tour guide was knowledgeable and engaging, and the cave was a welcome respite from the summer heat. Sitting on a rock at the mouth of that cave was just like sitting in air conditioning. We had such a good time, highly recommended. Ask your tour guide why the trees are black!

Visitors who come to the barn-style distillery can take a behind-the-scenes tour of our still house and learn firsthand how we make our authentic Sugarlands spirits. Adults over the age of 21 can take a guided tasting flight of our spirits at the Sippin' Posts. Our Back Porch stage offers free shows covering many genres, open to guests of all ages. My husband and I stopped in here during our vacation we had fun sampling the different types of moonshine and even took a distillery tour, very fun and interesting place to go!

Here at Tennessee Shine Company, we focus on bottling the best instead of the most. That’s why you’ll only find small-batch moonshine and whiskey with our labels. Passed down through generations, our Smoky Mountain recipes stay true to the signature flavors and seasonal blends our families are known for. Pair that with our down-home, friendly atmosphere, and you’ll understand what sets our distillery apart from the rest.
Our host, Katie, made us feel right at home. From blueberry pancake batter to root beer float to banana laffy taffy, the flavors and history of Doc Collier's distillery were awesome to experience. I would highly recommend walking downtown Gatlinburg afterward. We visited several distilleries in the area including Ole Smokey and Sugarlands. Doc Collier's is the best!

Ole Smoky Moonshine Distillery was the pioneer in Tennessee's push to provide LEGAL Moonshine to East Tennessee. Since Ole Smoky first opened it's doors in 2010, it has continued to grow and expand into a global leader in moonshine production while staying true to it's Smoky Mountain heritage. Ole Smoky Distillery at the Island in Pigeon Forge is our second distillery to open. The Island provides a great atmosphere in the middle of Pigeon Forge for families to come and enjoy shopping, food, entertainment, and now Moonshine. Our product is made in house and our working still is visible for anyone who likes to see moonshine being made. We offer samples of our moonshine to make sure you like it before you buy it. Some of our products we offer are our Original Moonshine as well as White Lightnin, Moonshine Cherries, Apple Pie, Blackberry, Peach, Hunch Punch, Blue Flame, and several seasonal flavors that will change often. We also offer shirts, hats, glassware, and lots of food products such as BBQ Sauces, Salsas, Jams, Jellies, Butters, and more which are made with our shine as well. We offer live bluegrass music daily on our outdoor stage. Pull up one of our rocking chairs and sit a spell with us, and then you can take home the most authentic souvenir of the Smoky Mountains, Ole Smoky Moonshine.

Opened in March of 2015, the Chattanooga Whiskey Experimental Distillery is making the first legal whiskey in Chattanooga is over 100 years. Daily tours include insight into our history, education on the production process and rounds out with a whiskey tasting! Come learn how we're building upon tradition and bringing whiskey back to the people. Our tasting room is now open Friday and Saturday evenings as a full-service whiskey lounge featuring seasonal cocktails made with Chattanooga Whiskey!
In addition to making great whiskey, Chattanooga Whiskey offers guided tours of the distillery and a whiskey tasting. Our guide was Smiley, who was friendly, courteous, and incredibly knowledgeable on the history of whiskey in Tennessee, the history of the Chattanooga Distillery, and the whiskey making process. She answered all our questions in detail, and her infectious enthusiasm made the tour all the more enjoyable. After the tour the distillery offers a whiskey tasting, which in our case featured their 91 and 111 Whiskeys, a white whiskey barely aged (one week), a coffee liquor, their new rye whiskey, a cocktail (Sazerac) made with the 91 Whiskey, and an experimental whiskey. Each offering was explained in detail by our server, Alex, who also showed both detailed knowledge and an enjoyment of his job. Knowing that I would enjoy the 91 and 111 Whiskeys, I was pleasantly surprised by the rye and the coffee liquor, while the experimental whiskey was phenomenal. Needless to say I left with a case of mixed bottles of the three offerings I cannot purchase at home. I highly recommend this tour to any whiskey lover, and for a great time ask for Smiley as your tour guide and Alex as your bartender. P.S. They were also kind enough to care for our standard poodle, Sofia, while we took the tour. I don't know how they could be more friendly.

Tennessee Hills Distillery is the dream and vision of our founder, Stephen Callahan. The distillery is located in Jonesborough, Tennessee's oldest town, and housed in the very historic Salt House building which was constructed in the1840s and used to store salt during the Civil War era. The building has gone through a very rigorous renovation process and provides the perfect venue for any tourist visiting Jonesborough. While at the distillery, visitors have the opportunity to witness every aspect of our liquor making process such as mashing/fermenting to the final distillation in our hand-made copper stills that were built by the fellas at Tennessee Hills Distillery, as well as our bottling and packaging processes. The facility also provides a tasting bar that will allow our customers and tourist to experience and purchase all of our Tennessee Hills products.
Friendly staff, beautiful building, and free tastings!! Definitely worth the trip - I love it even more every time we go!
