You’ll wonder why you don’t live in Portland after you’ve visited this laid-back and friendly city. With a reputation for manicured parks, eclectic nightlife, fine micro-breweries and distilleries, and nature that cuts right into the city, Portland’s a Pacific Northwest must-visit. Don’t miss the famous Japanese Garden, one of the largest and most beautiful of its kind outside of Japan.

Visited the store at PDX and our server was very informative. Tried the old fashioned drink and ended up buying a bottle and the carrot honey for the young man gave us the recipe.

Offerings include barrel aged whiskeys which range from rye to millet, seasonal liqueurs such as Quince, Nocino (green walnut) and Apricot, and European style brandies using pears from Salem and Hood River, plums from Tualatin. Their tasting room is nice and modern. There spirits are good if you like fruit infused vodkas but their original is pretty smooth. The prices for vodka is reasonable. That adult Lemonade with peach vodka is sweet and strong. They allow kids by the couch and give virgin lemonades

We just visited the Freeland Spirits establishment this past weekend and had a delightful time. We arranged to take a guided tour of the on site distillery operations, followed by a sampling of their current distilled spirits. We were impressed by the spirits, the tour, the service, and the vision of a new distillery. A woman owned business, they specialize in excellent gin and bourbon production, with both tasting, light meals, and product sales available. The tour lasted about 45 minutes, and was exceptional in how it was led, the information provided, knowledge of the staff (Kacee), and overall organization. After the tour, we were able to sample a selection of their spirits, which resulted in our purchasing some bottles to take home. All in all, Freeland Spirits offers an excellent tour, outstanding service, and fine spirits. An excellent start to a relatively new distiller making a name in the Pacific Northwest. We will be back!

Eastside Distilling was started in Portland, Oregon with a passion for distilled spirits and started from the ground-up, developing the recipes and company mission in 2008. Award winning Below Deck Coffee Rum, Burnside Bourbon and Portland Potato Vodka compliment other specialties such as Cherry Bomb Whiskey and Holiday Spiced Liqueur.
First, let me tell you that the whiskey is amazing ( and I am very picky about my whiskey)! That’s reason number one to check it out. If you don’t like whiskey they also have plenty of Rum, Vodka, Gin’s etc. to try. The Burnside whiskey is my favorite. Oh, and beyond the alcohol it is a cool place to hang out. The person that poured our drinks was Kentrail and he was so much fun to talk to. Totally great atmosphere! Lastly, it is owned by the first female to have a distillery west of the Mississippi which is also super cool! Check this place out and you will not be disappointed!
