We started from San Remo Train Station, heading through the town and rapidly onto the footpaths into the mountains. The routes were very well chosen and challenging with a good amount of shade - especifally for me with fair skin !! We climbed up rapidly and the views were awesome as we headed to San Romolo, where we had a lovely sandwich picnic. Our hike involved over 1000 meters of elevation and 13.2 km total distance. Katherine was an excellent guide, very engaging enthusiastic person with a great knowledge of different trails to explore. This is highly recommended.

Sunday early morning, grey and chilly air... "Daytime sleep is like the sin of the flesh" The mountain was hided by a low cloud but when we went up, here we are, the abbeys appear on top of the rock, strong and proud, majestic even and so humble at the same time. We made the tour on our own and we enjoyed a lot, following our instinct and timing. We just had to be out of the church by midday because of the Sunday mass - obvious. It is a touristic place but used by living monks! Don't forget, it is a beautiful location but most of all a religious mecca, a strong spiritual location on the Saint Michaels's line. I'll go back on Spring for sure. “Love is wiser than wisdom.” Umberto Eco

Tour guide was very friendly and informative. Driver was friendly and stopped at several locations so we could see and experience all there was in Rome. We were driven in a spacious very clean mini van and we were made very comfortable. Both spoke excellent English. Would not have had such an excellent experience without these two people. They took good care of us and were always looking out for us but at the same time, they made us feel like family. Driver took us to a restaurant that was very authentic and served us wine and everything on the menu! I would recommend this tour to anyone who is visiting Rome including families.

I booked a trip for a trek up the Alpe Sattal. I started from Milan, in the morning by train to the station of Arona. Here I met Marco e Sabrina who brought me up to Alagna car. (about 1.5 hours by road). Same way to go back. L'Alpe Sattal is the home of Mr. Giuseppe a man a bit 'philosopher who decided to live alone on a mountain. The cottage is beautiful, stone externally and wood inside. We had lunch together and we talked about many topics. The trek for me it was too easy, only two hours walk to go up, three hours for lunch and relaxation and 2 hours to walk down. I thought it was more challenging, Next time I want a longer trek, minimum of two days. Monte Rosa is very different from the Alps near Lake Como, here are real mountains, near Como seem hills. See you next time
