All in all okay - but no „sailing-trip“ & there are changes due to COVID-19! Pick-up time by bus about 7:30 am, very early. It took us about 1,5 h to get to the first stopp. Lots of time in the bus, no sailing, just about 60-90 minutes on a vessel. Due to COVID-19 no swimming in Kolokýtha and no bbq on board but a little packed lunches for everyone and swimming later in elounda for about 2 h. About 1 h staying on spinalonga island.

This tour gives you the opportunity to explore the Real Crete away from the tourist resorts with amazing views, Lasithi Plateau the biggest one in Crete located at an altitude around 900 m above the sea level, visit old traditional villages where time seems to have stopped long ago , visit an olive oil factory where we learn how olive oil is made now and how used to be made with the old machines, enjoy a Cretan traditional meal, visit old wind mills and of course the Cave on the where Zeus was born .( I hope Zeus will be there when we visit him because last time I visited he had gone to the Olympus mountain). This tour was highly recommended by a friend, and wow, totally exceeded all expectations! Eddie is a lovely, friendly, funny and knowledgeable guy... I seen and learned more about Crete in one day than I have in all the years going there! The tour included a visit to olive oil factory, cave of Zeus, lovely lunch with wine in the beautiful village of Mochlos, Lassithi plateau (stunning views) and finally wine tasting at the winery which was the perfect end to a perfect day ???? So if you want to see the real Crete and have a fantastic day out with a wonderful guide, book with Eddie... You will not regret it

Amazing tour experience with go Crete safari. We were a group of 3 friends and we enjoyed lots! The rout to Sarakina gorge is really beautiful and the 2 guides Nontas and Nikos made it also interesting and knowledgeable. Absolutely recommend to give it a try, especially if never went safari or even if you know that’s the best way to reach unseen places!

This is my favorite tour in Crete because you get to see the real Crete, the monasteries, ( optional ) the old villages, Zeus Cave where the king of all the Greek gods was born. His mother gave birth there to hide from his father Kronos. We will see the old traditional windmills and the amazing views from an altitude of around 1000 m above sea level . Then it's off to Lasithi plateau, the biggest one in Crete . Driving through the old villages on the Lasithi plateau you feel that you are traveling back in time, like time stopped long ago.We can visit an olive oil factory ( optional ) where we learn about how olives are picked and how olive oil is made now and how they used to do it in the olden days . ( Flexible pick up from your hotel in Heraklion area ). ACACIA TOUR MHTE1039e60000115201

We booked last minute and then had to change last minute and Eddie did not miss a beat! What a fun day learning history and refreshing our Greek mythology! We enjoyed hearing from Eddie about the history, meeting locals at the Olive Oil factory, Zeus Cave, A lesson in ceramics and a fabulous lunch. And I would be remiss If I didn’t mention the fun we had shaking walnut trees and learning about the history of windmills! Eddie kept us rolling all day long!!

You are the whole day, with your Eye Travel guide, inside the countryside of Crete. The roads are almost all off road, the chance to see the real inland of Crete! We drive through the mountains towards the grape yards of the wine areas, passing small villages, through a river bed, sheltered by bamboo, a lot of nature. Crossing the river where we may have some water flowing in the months April, May and again from half of September. One of the highlights is a visit of a cave. We stop in a very authentic mountain village, on the square next to the church, for a coffee. We continue our trip along several small villages, on dirt tracks and through the green nature and herbs, passing olive groves and grape fields. We stop for lunch in a very small mountain village with a spectacular beautiful view. After lunch we drive through a mountainous area. On the way down we see a magnificent view of the north coast of Crete. We end this interesting day with a swim in the refreshing sea. Join us!

Exclusions: Food & Drinks, Admission fee to Spinalonga island 8.00 EUR. People up to the age of 25, from EU member states free
My error in thinking that this was a small group tour because pick-up was offered. We got ferried to a big bus and this took so long we arrived when there were loads of other buses there. Would have been better to take a taxi or local bus and get there early! Although our guide was very knowledgeable, there were so many of us trying to hear him that we missed a lot of what he said. We slipped away and walked around ourselves until meeting the bus to head back to the museum. We then departed from the trip and went to the museum ourselves - far better experience than going around with a large group in this wonderful museum. Big group tours are not for us..
